Are you asking the questions
after you have given the answers? Jeopardy, eh?

And women have the additional problem that it's "just" menopause. At least men have a better chance of getting their concerns heard.
Oooh, yeah, ladies of a certain age with sleep apnea make the
best and
easiest patients. No thought required!
Thank G-d my sleep doc is a *little* more inquisitive than that.

Now I will worry about having an underlying, undetected heart issue that is causing me to still feel crappy on CPAP.

LIbby, get a thorough heart check, preferably with a specialist. Then you can stop worrying because if you do have a heart problem then the odds are it can be rectified. If you do not have a problem then it can be crossed off the list but make sure your doctor is proficient at detecting problems as obviously not all are.

Do not deride the idiots of this world as they make the rest of us look so much better
BUT, avoid being an idiot yourself and
PERSIST WITH CPAP.

Self-diagnosis is the best tool you can use with the internet, I did research online and diagnosed myself with apnea just based off the symptoms, which many people though I was either a hypochondriac or just had the common daytime sleepiness that others experience. My doctor never suggested it, I had to point it out to them and they agreed I should get a sleep study.
I got the sleep study done and I was confirmed with severe apnea at 21 years old at a healthy weight of 15% bodyfat. No doctor would have caught that, all they ever did was give me aderall because I had ADHD, which was known for daytime sleepiness.
It's very important you do research yourself, doctors make assumptions and someone could have a serious issue. If I didn't do the research, I would have likely been living with sleep apnea and finding out I had it when I was 50, all that wasted time.

Well, I would probably think about doing that. But I already have enough bills coming in at the moment from all this other stuff I've been having done. It's all so....dumb. LOL! But
