OT FDA approved UroLif for treatment of enlarged prostrate

Post by Sir NoddinOff » Thu Apr 16, 2015 12:12 pm

I just read today there's a new FDA approved medical device for men that will hopefully replace surgery and laser reduction operations traditionally used to resize the occluded opening thru an enlarged prostrate gland. This gland problem causes frequent urination for most men, especially at night. It is non-invasive, in that it is a piece of metal that is attached to the gland and forces open the swollen tissue thus allowing the man to empty his bladder. The device is inserted with a catheter. I hope it works out because BPH reduction (including laser ablation and TURPs) is the second most performed operation on senior men in the US and the various traditional surgical procedures carry a real risk of sexual dysfunction, as do the drug remedies for BPH. Here's some more info.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
