Paleface, I believe you are accurately reporting your experience. If it works, that is better than all the advice and conjecture from others. Have a good sleep.

Not a full face mask, but for ComfortGel, ComfortGel Blue, and Swift FX, I disassemble and wash everything except headgear in the dishwasher. Normal diswashing powder, no dishes, the hottest "sanitize" cycle, extra rinse, no heated dry. I have two sets of everything and wash the dirty set each weekend, and use the other set. Once the dishwashing cycle is over, I put the clean set away and let it sit and dry out for a week.

I get a year or more of usage before the silicone gets yucky.

ResMed says not to wash in the dishwasher. Works for me. Don't wash any foam or fabric this way. You might not want to wash your mask parts this way until you have a spare set.
