Re: Why am i still so tired???
No, its not cramps. More like trigger points-- deep soreness. I do have RLS but it hasnt been acting up-- i take mirapex as needed (they tend to cluster)

Believe me, this is typical. I was so thrilled when SA popped up... Finally something definitive.
Ya know, one son had mono around thanksgiving. Maybe i have a touch of EBV?

I think the first place to start is by making your diet the healthiest it can be. You may not need additional drugs.
After that go and visit a children's playground. Do some soul searching and you may re-discover your passion...

I haven't read more than part of page 1...but what of chronic fatigue syndrome? seems like the symptoms are very similar to a friend of mine who was diagnosed last year.

Sleepyhead is on the imac and I'm on the ipad, so it will probably be tomorrow before I get it all uploaded.
I've thought about chronic fatigue, but i think i probably need to give it several more months before i can know for sure that it isn't "slow to come out of SA exhaustion"

Re: Why am i still so tired???
I took a screen shot on my mac and then emailed it to myself so i could pick it up on the ipad and the image is blurry (?) and worse than the one i posted.
ETA: i also sent it to "the cloud" but it didn't turn up in my cloud. So i don't know whose cloud it went to.
Please bear with me until sometime tomorrow morning... My brain is off for the night, thanks.

Re: Why am i still so tired???
Chronic fatigue is what gets diagnosed only after everything else has been eliminated. It's a bit too early for that diagnosis. Besides the best treatment for chronic fatigue is considered to be counseling and exercise, possibly combined with antidepressants and sleep aids - so there's not a short term fix.
I would talk to your doctor before restarting the Zoloft. As you know, it takes a week or two to reach therapeutic levels - so "some extra" might not be enough to make a difference in any event (unless you have a month's supply or so). Also if you begin taking Zoloft without talking to the doctor and then decide to stop, you still need to make sure that you taper off under medical supervision.
I wish you well on figuring this out. It does take weeks of CPAP for some people to overcome the fatigue.

Re: Why am i still so tired???
Muscle pain is probably due to lack of deep sleep (N3) and consequently insufficient tissue repair. Your AHI is low but I bet there are quite a few flow limitations that cause sleep fragmentation just when you are about to begin deeper sleep.
My suggestion: up the pressure and avoid back sleep.

Re: Why am i still so tired???
Thanks. I upped cpap to 14 last night and out lanoish on the mask for a better seal and I slept better.
A few nights ago I did wake up and thought to myself I needed to mark the time so I could try to figure it out. Of course I didnt note the time.
I want to get up to a Pressure of 16 to see where it goes. Doc gave me the ok to up the pressure and self-titrate as needed. I see him again on Monday.
(And the answer to limb movement is after second sleep study Doc said no notable limb movement.)

Re: Why am i still so tired???
Are you any better after starting CPAP?
How many hours a day are you sleeping now?
You might want to post your Overview screen at least once.
Are you taking any vitamins or other supplements? OTC medicines?
What prescription drugs are you taking? Check the side effects on the internet. Be careful and don't just drop a particular drug without consulting your doctor and doing your own research. There are also some internet sites where you can enter all your drugs and look for interactions.
You might consider experimenting with whether food plays a part. Eliminate whole groups of foods for a while and see if anything changes. Don't stay on a restricted diet for too long without figuring out whether what remains is balanced, but a short test is fairly safe. I tried eating nothing but one or two simple foods for a week or so to see if it helped. Then I'd go back to a normal diet for a few weeks. Then, I'd try a few totally unrelated foods for a week.
My doctor suggested trying the "Paleo" diet. Not that he necessarily recommended it long term, but it's reasonably balanced and eliminates a lot of the common problem foods. I tried it and it didn't help, so I stopped it.
I don't believe we need a generally restricted diet, but a number of people do find that certain foods mess them up. I think it's worthwhile for some people to experiment with diet changes. If you do make a long term diet change, be sure what's left is healthy.
A few things like gluten problems take a longer time to show any effects from stopping. You might try gluten free for a while, but it takes a month or so to see the benefits.
It might be worth experimenting with eliminating certain things like no sugar at all for a week. Then try no caffeine if that doesn't work, etc.
