first night on vpap auto

Post by Greg Riddle » Wed Dec 31, 2014 7:29 am

Woke up this morning at 5:45. Felt ok not really good but better than I have in months.

Vpap settings are
Resmed aircurve 10 vpap auto
Max ipap 25
Min epap 15
Ps 5
Ti max 2.0
Ti min .3
Trigger very high
Cycle med

Here are sleepy head reports

A few questions. Should I raise the min exhale pressure? Should the ti max be set to a higher level to match my breathing cycle to get rid of the dip in flow at 2 seconds

I did wake up a 4 or 5 times last night. Most where due to mask leaks. Still waiting on dme to get the airfit 10

You have been here long enough to know one night is not enough for comments or advice.

It is only one day. That was the best night of sleep in more than 6 months

I agree, not enough data to make changes. Pretty impressive leak results considering the pressures!

They didn't feel impressive. They woke me up quite a bit and the mask was too tight. Since the mask is to small, too tight doesn't feel good

I like an older mask model: mirage quattro, which i like more than f10 for leaks much less. But with such a high pressure, i wonder if p10 with mouth taping will give you a better experience

The f10 worked well during the titration
Call me crazy but with the allergy problems I have there is no way I could tape my mouth shut

Yes, i also tend to have nasal congestion, though nowehere as severe as yours, but i find p10 to work better to combat congestion in my case

I never thought about tying the pillows with the vpap. I'm not sure how it would go. I may try them

I use the p10 most of the time now, and usually hit the low 20's for ipap.

average of 95% leaks for the month, 3.6

This will work if I can get mask issues solved. Didn't sleep much last night. Lot of tossing and turning and fightingmask leaks and comfort issues
Still feel good today

I may try the large Quattro fx tonight. The med is just to hard to deal with. The bottom strap has to be way to tight. It just don't fit my face

Did some modification to the had gear on my large Quattro fx. I took the Velcro strap off the swift fx pillows and used it as the bottom strap. I cut all of the bottom of the fx head gear off and used the top part of the strap on the top. I did a leak test at 19 25 and it didn't leak and mask was comfortable. Might have to take a nap
