Back on topic.

Call me crazy, but here's what I started coming up with:

The nightmares of sleep apnea: nightmare frequency declines with increasing apnea hypopnea index (emphasis added).

For whatever it's worth my first night on Cpap I had a nightmare that a two tigers were ripping me apart, yeah not fun. Since tweaking some things, mask, chin strap etc I haven't had nightmares in the past two weeks.

finding evidence that reality is the opposite of what borgready says is no surprise at all.

"IMHO", having all that dream recall may not necessarily be a good thing. Because of the nature of dream recall, it suggests that your period of post-REM enlightenment goes to Wake instead of light NREM.

That said, a variety of things could be underfoot. Are you taking any drugs (legal or not)? Lots of them can cause "lucid dreaming" (which may be more of what's happening here):

However, that being said2:

Normal wake-up should be after your final REM period, so if you're talking about one recalled dream per night, at the end of the night, then this could/should be decidedly normal.

Been on cpap machine for just over a year and just started having very vivid dreams . Thought I was going crazier then normal , then I started reading these posts. Having dreams every night can remember bits and pieces .
