I'm surprised that you were told that you have to use the same type of machine that you used in your titration study. I'm not entirely sure which machine they used when they titrated my ASV - it was a big-ish white thing - but they started me on the Respironics ASV and then moved me to the ResMed. I can't say I had bad results with the Respironics machine, but after starting the ResMed Adapt all I can say is "wow"! I actually feel human again and the fog has lifted. What I like about it the most is that I don't wake up during the night. Like, at all! With the respironics ASV, I woke up numerous times being pummelled wih pressure and had to push the "ramp" button. I did like that button, and I was worried about not having it with the ResMed Adapt at first, but now that I see that I don't even have to go through waking up at all in the first place, I'm pretty thrilled.
Anyway, my point is that I believe you do have the power to choose the type of machine you use. I know that some people respond better to the respironics asv, that just hasn't been the case for me - but if you are having better results with Respironics, then by all means, stick with it, but if not, be a squeaky wheel and get a ResMed back. Good luck!
Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.
