Newbie.....(sorta), here I go. Now I need help!

Post by fdw » Wed Aug 27, 2014 8:40 am

Brief background....very brief.

I've been on CPAP since 1995
-1995 sleep study CPAP setting 11.0 through November 2007----weight 190-195 lbs age 37 New machine 1995, another new machine 2001 (don't remember brands)
-2007 sleep study CPAP setting 13.0 through August 2014----weight 215-220 lbs age 49. November 2007 purchased new machine RESMED S8 Vantage
-2014 August purchased new RESMED S9 AutoSet, downloaded SleepyHead v 0.96. Lost weight, currently 192 lbs, age 56.

SleepyHead results after 1 night.

HRS 6.65 actual sleep probably 5.5-6 hours
Compliance 100%
AHI-- Woke after 4 hours of going to sleep and checked AHI 2.1 (TT'ed), in the morning reported as AHI 2.7
OAI-- 1.73
HI-- 0.14
CAAI-- 0.87
Leak-- 1.42
90% Leak-- 6.0
%LRT-- 0.01%
Aver Press-- 8.65
Min Press-- 4.26
Max Press-- 10.6
90% Press-- 9.86
Aver EPAP-- 5.69
Min EPAP-- 4.0
Max EPAP-- 7.6
Machine settings---- AUTO Start Press 4.0, Min Press 7.4, Max Press 20.0. EPR setting 3.

Not sure how to inturpert all this data....but I know Im not feeling all that rested and haven't for quite a white hence the new machine.

Can anyone please help to moving me in one direction of another. What's a little odd is the Max Pressure was more in the neighborhood of a CPAP 11.0 setting which was back in 2007?

Pleas Advise.....Thank you so very much!

What does the flow limitation graph look like?
Can you post an image of it and your other detailed graphs (events, flow rate, pressure, leak) don't need AHI or mask pressure you can turn them off in Preferences.
Screen shot thread viewtopic.php?f=1&t=81072&p=737779#p737779

How may hours of sleep are you averaging?
How many wake ups during the night? Go right back to sleep or stay awake a little while?
Do you take any meds of any kind? If so, what?

What was the pressure setting on your old S8 Vantage?

Not sure how to post image....can you help? I have the image just don't know how to add to my post?

The S8 setting was CPAP 13.0 and EPR 2.....that's all I know

I normally go to bed between 9:30 and 10 PM and wake between 3-4 AM and 95% of the time I can't fall back asleep.

Don't take any Med's for sleep, however today seen the DR and he gave me a script for Xanax (generic) 0.5mg

The screen shot thread I mentioned in my first post explains how to post images here for us to see what you are seeing.

5 or 6 hours of sleep isn't going to be enough to expect to feel decent.

Let's see if anything stands out prior to the wake up that might be causing it.

I can't get that link to load the page. Is it my connection or a problem with the link. Did you check it yourself?

Pugsy, any ip address, like the one in that posters link, that starts with 10. is invalid, as well as72.16.0.0 -- 172.31.255.255 or 192.168.

they are 'non routable' addresses on the internet, meant for internal use only.

If you go to Photobucket and have the image open there should be a little box with 4 addresses on the right side of the image.
The last one in that box is the IMG address....just copy that address and paste it into the body of your text here...click on preview to see if the image shows up and if it does just click submit.

You shouldn't even have to have a link for us to click on if you use the IMG address..
like this one.

Next time can you have it off the Events tab on the left side and have it show the Detailed AHI and event categories instead?
Nothing screams out on this report below. I see the usual wake up but you went back to sleep and wasn't awake for long. The little cluster at the very end of the sleep session is probably just SWJ (Sleep/Wake/Junk).

To get this I used the IMG brackets...just inserted the image location address between the IMG brackets from the forum editor.

Too many IMG brackets in the address

Here's what I do...
I copy the url addy from the image that I went to and then I come to the blank post and I click on the IMG button on the forum editor and then I paste the url addy inbetween the brackets. I don't add or remove anything. If I do it right when I click on the IMG button on the editor the IMG brackets show up and my mouse cursor is already there so I just right click mouse and paste.
Then the address shows up in code but when submit shows up directly.
