Secondwindcpap.com for tech details

Post by Pesser » Wed Jan 07, 2015 2:51 pm

I needed technical advice regarding my PR760. Essentially my problem is this: When taking a deep breath the unit responds really well, giving me full IPAP pressure (12/8 is what I am using). In shallow breathing the unit responds well switching from EPAP to IPAP and back again. If I take a number a deep breaths repeatedly the PR760 seems to get mixed up. It switches from IPAP to EPAP before I am finished taking my full breath. If I stop breathing for a couple of seconds it seems to reset and returns to normal.

This guy called Mark helped me a great deal. He informed me that the unit can be "fooled" in this way and he explained why and how. The service that Secondwindcpac.com is giving excellent. There is a lot of negative experiences in this forum.....I want to share this positive one!

it's great to hear another positive review of second wind.
I think the only way you're going to be happy with the deep breathing is to change to a s9 or ac10 vpap auto machine, where you can control the TiMax setting.

Thanks "Halo"

I am very happy now! PR760 does a poke every few minutes to see if my breathing wave can be improved. That's a feature I like. I'm used to this and the other stuff now; but if I have a problem I will switch!!!! I appreciate your help with all this!

Mine does essentially the same thing. I kind of got used to it, but I'm glad to know it's normal.

I would not hesitate to use them if I needed to.

I understood that because the PR760 does a poke at you by slightly increasing the pressure this affects the switch between EPAP and IPAP. It will never affect you, but if you breath rapidly and continuously the PR760 will try to adjust its flow rate to match what you are doing. It keeps track of your previous breathing pattern in order to give you more pressure later on to improve your breathing. It tries to prevent the OSA. In regular breathing this can't and doesn't happen. Also when you start the unit it goes through a self diagnostic. And it continues to monitor itself throughout. All in all this is all good.
