How many "Perfect ZERO" AHI nights have you had?

Post by Kenwood » Sun Feb 09, 2014 12:21 pm

How many "Perfect ZERO" AHI nights have you had? - Thought this could be a fun topic - of course its how u sleep.

At the end of this month, I will have been on CPAP for a year. Two of those months, I was struggling with high leaks due to using a face mask until Pugsy talked me into to try pillows. So far, I have had FOUR perfect AHI Zero nights.

You?

Using my PR System 1 Auto for a year: Not even close to 0.0, AHI typically between 3-8

Using my ResMed S9 VPAP ASV 36007 for nine months: Virtually every night was 0.0 AHI - never over 1.0

Using my PR System 1 BiPap advanced autoSV model P for several weeks: Rarely 0.0, but my AHI is always under 1.5.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

I average about four 0.0s per month. (Overall average is 0.2)

Needless to say, I have good info from many veteran xpappers who preceded me to thank for my therapeutic success.

I found with the ResMed S9 Vpap ASV wether it is the 36007 or 36037 my AHI is 0.0, 99.999% of the time.

As Sir NoddinOff said never over 1.0

No zeroes for me yet, but, I only have three months of use so far.

I did a happy dance this morning to celebrate my best night yet with AHI of 0.11! That's pretty darn close, and MUCH better than where I was pre-treatment at 70.5!

Let me be clear .. Who gives a crap if I have a zero AHI night? .. What is MUCH MORE important is how I slept!! If I have a zero AHI night, but slept poorly then all the zeros strung together won't make any difference. On the other hand, if I have higher AHI scores, then I would definitely be happy.

It's the quality of the sleep, not the AHI score that matters!!!

John the quality of sleep is most important.
The AHI as you well know is simply an indicator of one issue that may disrupt the quality of sleep. Getting AHI near zero may allow us to focus on other areas of sleep hygiene to improve overall quality of sleep.

I totally agree with John and LSAT. Although my numbers are uniformly sterling, I'm am still, to this a day, a 'difficult' sleeper. I have my good nights and bad nights, just like so many of us. If I figure out all the answers to endless good sleep, I'll be sure to let you all know

I’m right on board with that. I would trade with LSAT any day of the week. That's the way it goes all you AHI junkies... how you feel in the next day is the REAL trump card.

Last night, my AHI was 0.0, but my leak was 34+, so I probably can't trust it.

For us that have had Sleep Apnea for most or all of our lives know it is how you feel the next day.

It was just a question someone was asking.
