Check out Crane Facemask- An Alternative??

Post by Billy6 » Sat Dec 15, 2012 12:37 pm

An new alternative that may get you off the machine. It looks a bit cumbersome, (google "Crane Facemask" but it looks like all you need is a dental impression of your upper jaw and the Crane device (and better yet--likely no braces or surgery )

And no, I have nothing to do with the Company

This looks a little like the Haans device worn by Nascar Drivers. I don't think I'm that desperate for alternative therapy yet, but for those who are, I would suggest a consultation with your sleep dr before trying this. I did notice on the website that it is sold only to Dentists, Osteopaths, Medical Drs and Chiropractors.

Osteopaths, and chiropractors.

Very interesting.

When I was desperate about not being able to stay asleep on my machine, I wondered if a combination of a dental appliance and using my neck collar might work. I decided it probably would not work for various reasons and fortunately, it looks like I am making progress using my machine.

But if god forbid things change, I will definitely revisit this.

The Crane Facemask is not as uncomfortable as it looks. Only wear it during the day and stick with the dental device or machine at night until an Xray shows measurable opening of airway. Losing weight also helps greatly. Hopefully it will get a bunch of us away from the doctors, the insurance companies and supply houses
