Obviously if it is an upper tooth, my dentist told me some years ago the connection between sinus issues and tooth pain is common, or at least more common than you may think and the roots of some of the teeth may be quite close to the sinuses.

I might add that if you had a root canal in that tooth, that takes out the nerve within the tooth, likely, but the nerve that served that tooth (and others) may (probably) is still there and may be irritated by the sinus issues, giving a phantom pain for what is essentially a neurologically dead tooth (?) I'm stretching here, not a doctor, but I think might be possible.

Max, the pain is not always there. I feel it at wake up time and not every day. When the hours are passing the discomfort/kind of pain could decrease and completely disappear or not depending on how strong the discomfort was at wake up time. I imagine a phantom pain wont do that. Thanks for the idea, we are making a brainstorming all ideas are welcome.

If I use the normal Headrest (what I did a couple of weeks ago) the pain comes right away. I decided to try the Headrest (not deconstructed) to test if I was now able to use it again, bad idea. I used the Headrest for I think a good 7 month before the tooth pain showed up. At the beginning I thought it was the tooth or even the pillow twisting my jaw and misaligning it, was brainstorming alone . No, it was something with the nasal pillows.

By the way I forgot to tell Pugsy that I meed a lot of humidity too. My humidifier is set at 4 and sometimes at 5 on winter time. I push a product for humidifying the sinuses before going to bed, my ENT prescribed it and told it was necessary to keep my sinuses humidified to help with the allergic rhinitis. If I don't do that my sinuses block in the night even with the humidifier functioning.

Yep, thanks, I was pretty much brainstorming, and just saying sinuses likely can cause tooth pain and not necessarily continuous pain. Brainstorming again; if the sinus gets irritated however briefly in proximity to a nerve that is associated with the upper teeth, I suppose you could feel tooth pain. On the other hand, if it's related to the mask's geometry somehow, then one would think it would be some sort of mechanical thing. I don't know, just throwing ideas out to try to find an explanation of the seemingly inexplicable.

Regarding the need for more moisture and the new PR S1 Machine's system of humidification.. might want to add the Hybertnite heated hose. It allows for going back to classic mode which uses more water and delivers more moisture with out the rain out. Like the old way for adding humidity with heat only but he Hybernite hose allows for more moisture to be delivered without rain out.
Just a though

I use only full face masks and used the Quatro Pro for a long time, but it cut into the area between my chin and bottom lip. Then I tried the F&P Forma and haven't looked back. It is soft all over and although I have to have it tight it is not painful. Having the correct size is critical as to small puts the nose bridge too low which makes the bridge sore.

I doubt most need their mask as tight as I because my skin is extremely oily and the mask is slippery before morning. This in spite of washing both the cushion and face with detergent before bed.

I have an Aussi Hose with a lower current transformer. It makes the hose to heat less the air but even so I find the air too hot because I prefer the cool air. In any case the PR System 1 gives me enough humidity, some times I need to reduce humidity to avoid the blocked sinuses.

I was thinking at the Forma Full, another expense I wonder if I will be able to sleep on my belly, form time to time I need desperately to sleep like that ( there is a say: to each fool his folly) or even if I will be able to sleep on the side because it seems the side clips will touch the pillow.

Re: Mask face farts/FFM problems

Post by rosacer » Sun May 06, 2012 7:47 pm

I finally get my appointment with the pneumologist last Wednesday.

He told the tooth pain could be caused by a damage or irritation of a nerve running from the front of the septum to the upper lip.

He suggested to use a FFM for 3 month to see if the pain goes away. He added it was the easiest solution and we needed to try that first.

What a pain in the neck is my Ultra Mirage FFM, ?%@$@#*!*&@()* I have been waking up at least 4 times (to say the less) each night since Wednesday (I started using it), I hate that mask and I need to say that mask is the best I have tried until now ^%&^$*#&(@** (I tried the ComfortFull gel blue, the Quattro, the ComfortFull 2, the Zzz FFM).

The crappy mask hurts my forehead (it aches when I touch it), if I loose it the leaks starts. The front plastic crap (the forehead thing) touches the pillow and the mask starts leaking. My neck is stiff and aching again now because the position I take while asleep (I sleep on the side), I wake up with the mask embedded in one side of the face (I'm a belly sleeper too ), my back is aching because I'm tired and I don't succeed to rest. The weird thing is that now it seems I'm not sleeping on the back, in the past I woke up almost each day on my back; I think the mask leaks when on my back. Ah yes, the leaks are going higher and higher and the AHI too

I'm becoming tired again as in the old bad times. I will receive a Quattro FX in one week or two. In case it doesn't works for me, could somebody tell me if the Forma Full allows you to sleep on the side? Is it possible to sleep on the belly? just asking.

Thanks for any suggestion. By the way, the tooth pain seems to diminish.

Rosie
