Getting a PR System One, software question

Post by RoboLobo » Mon Mar 26, 2012 5:12 pm

It looks like this coming Thursday I am going to be supplied with a Phillips Respironics PR System One Remstar, etc. etc. CPAP machine. I have a couple of questions for all you nice folks: 1) am I correct in my assumption that this particular machine does not display any data, unlike the Resmed? In other words, it's all stored on the SD card?; 2) It appears that their Encore Viewer software is a) not free, and b) is PC only? I own a Mac and assume I might be out of luck in pulling any data myself; 3) Is that what Sleepyhead is all about: a free, Open Source alternative to proprietary software like Encore Viewer?

Thanks for all your advice

Sleepyhead on your Mac will work just fine.
It will read you SD card and then show you how your night went.
Most of us look at our data everyday. Its actually fun to see how you slept.
Its free unless you want to contribute to Jedimark.

The PR System One machine does show a small amount of data on the LCD screen. It is sorely limited though. I hear that the new PR S1 60 series machines will offer a bit more data on the LCD screen.

SleepyHead will work just fine. There is a Mac version available. Lots of Mac users have it.
Check links in my signature User Guide (reading will help with install and use) and the download links.
With SleepyHead you won't even miss the on screen data because it is so easy to use the software.

there is no software available for the new 60 series yet. sleepyhead and encore are not compatible. encore has a new version coming out sometime in the second quarter, 2012.

Yes there is....

Pro 2.8 is available but I can't get it to open yet. Already a headache.

EncoreBasic...is also available. It now will install on 64 bit computers and it has waveform now.
There is no advantage to using the bloated pig Pro.... EncoreBasic will give you everything Pro will without the bloat and headaches.

Both are still Windows based software so if someone wants to use it on a Mac...must set up Windows environment.
OP in this thread has a Mac....SleepyHead is the easiest option and still better option because SleepyHead does have a Mac version.
