CPAP pillows to sleep on

Post by MKA » Tue Mar 13, 2012 1:50 pm

I just got CPAP last Tuesday...it's been a rough week but getting better. I have a nasal mask and have used a contoured foam pillow for many years for the neck support. I have always slept on R side when in my deepest sleep it seems, but with this mask on, I am waking up with it being pushed over due to my bed pillow. So, I've been looking at special bed pillows for CPAP users on-line. There are several but the most common I see are Sleepap and CPAPMax by Contour. Can any of you give me direction here? I don't want to go buying things that just don't work well and the reviews I have read are on company websites where I am sure they really only want to present the least negative responses. Thanks for your help.

I do not have a CPAP Designed Pillow, but recently changed to a Tempur Pedic Cloud Pillow, works great for support and to keep my mask off the pillow as my head does not sink into it like a normal pillow.

I use UM FFM, exclusively.
I've tried every pillow out there.....
this is the best, IMNSHO.
Memory foam pillow purchased wherever you can find it on sale,
modified to my specifications. Side cutouts fit the mask,
cutout in the middle fits onto your shoulder to hold it in place.
Works very well.

Over the years on cpap I've tried several pillows, Saturday I got one of those memory gel pillows at Kohls, on sale for $39.00 from $99.00, I wasn't too optimistic as I am a tummy/side sleeper, but I couldn't resist to see if would work and if it was cool, as I hate to be hot. I also suffer from headaches. I LOVE THIS PILLOW, I thought it would too firm but 2 nights in and the mask stayed put. Give it a shot if you can, you won't be disappointed.
