Squid13,

Unless I am wrong, a button/bar that says report spam is all that anyone gets after meeting the time/post requirements. I think in all his excitement, Gazhacks is seeing red things or calling things red, other than what they really are... but he now has his button

Truth be told I got a little excited when I got the report spam button as well
I know, I know, Forum veterans... it doesn't take much to thrill the forum newbie’s

John

If that is the case then I'm all set. To tell the truth I didn't notice when I got the spam bar, just one day it was there. He was talking about a red button so I just wanted to check.

Yeah, I think I have used mine 8 -9 times since I have gotten it. Its eye opening to think of how much spam we would have here, assuming that it never got removed by 'real' forum members
It would totally make searching through the index pages for topics/posts a complete nightmare, and slow down our little communities ability to help, educate, communicate, and share in online friendships; the whole thing would come to a standstill

I usually read the forum around 5 am EST. I see quite a few "SPAM" messages. I just hit the report spam button and *POOF* they are gone! I think I probably hit the button 2 - 3 times a week.

Yeah, workers, including spammers, in China and Iran like to work during the daytime. Nothing like trying to sneak junk into American computers while we're sleeping!

Tea time???? We don't have tea time over here. That's only for the Queen's subjects, isn't it!!

We have coffee breaks!! That way we don't have to maintain an air of decorum!

Our T-Time is what you call Dinner time, yet our dinner time in probably your lunch time but at least breakfast is the same

Thanks for that.

I think Goose said it best back in April 21, 2009, one day after the new Report Spam Button policy was enacted:

Whenever I see a post from in the middle of the night (I'm in CST),
I think--"The poor thing couldn't sleep"
When the location is provided, and it is Europe--"AHA! maybe NOT up all night."

Here! Here!
There is one sleep apnea forum I visited that apparently doesn't remove spam. Very few real posts. I didn't stay there long.
