Getting a new machine- Is Resmed s9 a good choice?

Post by crazynan » Wed Feb 22, 2012 3:48 pm

This is my first post. I would love to hear from people that have used the Resmed s9. Also,I need a good chin strap. I have tried several chin straps and it has been a nightmare. They slide, or hurt my ear, and only one seems to work, but I hate it. Thank you for your help!

I have nothing to compare it to, but I have no complaints with my machine.

I have an S8 and love it. I have heard nothing bad about the S9. Just don't get the Escape. You need a machine that will give you efficacy data.

My husband and I both love our Autosets.
We paid a big upcharge to get his, and I bought mine completely out of pocket from cpap.com.
Worth every penny!

Just don't get An S9 Escape or Escape Auto, those are not full data machines.

I should have said I was considering the Resmed s9 Elite. Is the climate control hose good. Right now I can hardly turn on my humidifier or I get rain out. I have the s8 right now.

Thank you again for your help.

I have an S9 VPAP and I am very happy with it. You can help reduce the "rainout" by placing the machine as low as possible in relation to you. I have mine on the floor beside my bed. Also dont fill it to the top marker. The heated hose is great if you have one. You have not indicated which country you are from. This will make a lot of difference with cost and or procedure.

I like it but kind of bummed I paid full price for it online from a retailer. I was in a rush once I was diagnosed and wanted to get me some CPAP lovin. I see people here offering new units with the humidifier for under $500 instead of the $1100 I paid. Now that's a bargain.
