CPAP.com and CPAPtalk.com SOPA Protests Tomorrow

Post by johnnygoodman » Tue Jan 17, 2012 5:25 pm

Howdy,

SOPA and PIPA threaten the freedom provided to us by the American Constitution and the internet.

You can learn about SOPA, PIPA and the fight against them here: http://americancensorship.org/

CPAP.com and CPAPtalk.com oppose them and will join in tomorrow's protests.

Tomorrow from 8 AM - 8 PM CST the first load of CPAPtalk.com or CPAP.com will give a visitor the option to continue to the website or to learn more about SOPA/PIPA and how they are contact their elected officials to voice their opinions.

Johnny

Bravo!

Folks, this is real stuff. If this garbage passes Congress, sites like this might very well have to shut down.

Contact your local CongressSlime and tell them to reject SOPA and PIPA in every possible form, no matter how watered down. The forces of evil with make some token changes to "fix" things, but the bills are evil to the core.

Even if I'm Canadian I signed the petition. You need to put 00000 as your zip code other way you receive an error message.

I encourage all the cpap.com members from other countries to joint in the protest and sign the petition.

A big thank you to Johnny for posting the link on the splash page.

I've signed the petition and I intend to contact my congressman and senators later today.

I hope that everyone visiting here does the same.

I'm a Canadian currently on a work visa living in San Antonio.

Actually, we are a bunch of Canadians who moved down here
with the company where we have setup web hosting/software company.

I find it odd the legislators seem to be able to get their act together
to cobble together this horrid bill yet just a few months ago they fight
tooth & nail over the nation's finances.

In any case, fwiw I also signed the petition.

Quoted from...

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/01/19/techn ... ourse.html

"Members of Congress, many of whom are grappling with the issues posed by the explosion in new
media and social Web sites, appeared caught off guard by the backlash to what had been a relatively
obscure piece of legislation to many of them.
"

Translation: They don't know what they are doing and had no idea there would be such big protest.

Perhaps they should stick to financial issues? Oh wait, they don't know what they are doing there either.
