"Biohazard cleanup in aisle 3."

They're putting "Doc in the Box" quick medical clinics in some of the grocery stores around here.

the vaccination, is it good for life, or do you have to get a booster later?
The researchers are wondering the same:
Research suggests that the shingles vaccine is effective for at least six years, but may last much longer. Ongoing studies are being conducted to determine exactly how long the vaccine protects against shingles.

So keep an eye on the news for research results.

Zostavax (Merck's shingles vaccine) was approved in 2006 and trials were done for about five years before that. The researchers will collect data on the population vaccinated that later has an outbreak of shingles. Depending on this data and other laboratory research, they will make a recommendation on boosters or not.
