How long did it take you to start sleeping all night on cpap

Post by maabb » Wed Jun 16, 2010 2:56 pm

Just a survey to find out how long it takes most people to adjust to cpap and seeing some results (ie...not being tired anymore).

I took to it almost immediately from titraition night. alfter that night I was really stoke to get the new machine and get going if everyday was going to be like that I wanted more. I have had a few leaks and what not but I look forward to bed time every night. my nubers have bounced around a little but have stayed under 6 AHI so far so seems to be going well. Just think about like sleeping with a gas mask on, taking it off could be a bad deal.

LOL, it took me longer to sleep through the night on CPAP than it took my last baby to sleep through the night

She was sleeping through the night at 6 weeks, it took me about 3 months.

It was about 6 weeks for me. I went through several masks before I finally found the right one. Hang in there, it does get better.

It also took me a few weeks not because of the machine but to find the {right mask}.Due to the constant leaks and face farts I was constantly waking up.Now that I have found the right mask for me I sleep right through usually without even changing positions.

I slept through the night the third night, I believe. Seeing results? That has been a rollercoaster ride, I saw some results immediately, then down, then back up, etc etc etc

I think it took me about 3-4 days to be able to sleep all night with my CPAP. As far as feeling the benefits of my therapy, I have just now really started to see some benefits almost 2 years later.

I think that I am starting to see the benfits due to my recent open heart surgery. As my heart gets better/stronger I think my AHI gets better.
Better over the hill than under the hill--especially since my last surgery was a heart transplant on August 3, 2013.

About 2 nights. The first night was getting used to the mask and hose. It kept waking me up every time I moved. The second night it was only a couple of times that I woke up from it. The third night I slept really well.

1st night I got rainout but slept pretty much most of the night. Night two 8+ hours. Never had a problem adjusting to that part. Before I started to feel better? Well...truth be told I felt worse before starting to feel better. Like awful. Bout a month later started feeling fantastic. (proviso...first three days I felt like a million bucks then I crashed and burned for a month)

Since the first night, post titration!

That was one of the things that convinced me it was actually doing something useful, instead of just blowing humidified air.

I slept through the night during both my sleep tests. After the second (titration) sleep test, I awoke feeling better than I had in a very long time. I really looked forward to the therapy and it was hard waiting for my perscription and CPAP equipment (received on May 3).
The first two nights I had some problems with mask fit and leaks, but since then I have slept very well through the night every night.
