Hello Banned

Wow - you really are some piece of work, and such a distinguished avatar as well, but a very understandable name.
The fireman is back

- yes - that is good, I am glad he is.
Muffy is chugging along

- as though he had done nothing wrong - thanks to fellow abusers like you.

Your gratuitous insults to Madalot was a low point even for you -

Sounds like you might have let Madalot's manipulative meanderings get the best of you.

Just a put-down for me, but a really vindictive hurtful remark to someone who was just trying to get some help from this Forum, and was already under a lot of emotional stress.
madalot is gone.

Madalot may have gone - again thanks to abusers like Muffy, who harrassed her out of the forum, and unfeeling predators like you, who kicked her in the teeth when she was down.

If I have failed in my endeavour to get Muffy to clean up his act, then I acknowledge that. If the forum wants people like you to dictate the mindset of the forum, then all they have to do is keep on doing nothing. However, the loudest voice is not necessarily right, but I understand the culture it comes from. Shoot first, and don't bother asking questions afterwards.

I experienced this in Vietnam. I was nearly killed there, together with my Vietnamese friend and his three small children. Not by the VC or NVA, but by undisciplined American troops. We were having a picnic by the side of the road near My Tho. An American truck convoy roared past, and we were shot at from about the middle of the convoy. The convoy did not stop.

So what is the connection with this Forum. Simply this. Those guys who shot at us knew they could get away with it. They rode off in their convoy, having proved how "powerful" they were. The abusers on this Forum also know they can get away with it. So they continue with impunity, depending on the silence of the rest of us. Deleting their abuse just gets rid of the evidence, does no long term good, and simply protects the abuser. And I salute the ForumAdmin for reinstating Banned's post.

I can see that I have failed to achieve any acknowledgement from Muffy and his supporters that change was necessary. For me, failure is not dishonourable. Only not trying is dishonourable.

However, I did not fail in supporting Madalot, which was much more important.

You see, respect for people has far more grandeur than being powerful, or in control, or even "right". Respect is a word that members of the "Abusers Club" do not understand, but their ignorance does explain why they support each other, and use intimidation (as above) to maintain acquiescence from us ordinary mortals.

Calling me an
Ass-Hole
is your badge of shame, and my badge of integrity.

Mars,

There really isn’t much hope in changing someone who is a bully and probably has been their whole life. I do believe that the way this forum is set up by the administrators allows us to help more people than not, but as seen in many posts some are unable to control their need to be always right and their love for intimidation. These types of people cannot be reasoned with and the more you try the worse they get. If you notice, there are many of the usual posters that left the thread as soon as it started getting personal knowing that it would die down and we could get back to business as usual. These bullies will have to face a higher judgment someday and will pay for their transgressions as we all will as no one is perfect. I agree with you that Banned and Muffy should have been nicer to madalot, but by venting you become one of them and your words are lost to most who read them.

By the way I want to thank you for you service as it is because of those who serve that we enjoy our way of life.

This is the kind of crap that drives people away--totally counterproductive to the mission and goals of the forum.

Shame on anyone who has participated in this kind of behavior.

Sometimes we post things that come out wrong in writing....but the decent person will correct the misinterpretation asap. That happens to all of us now and then.

We don't need anger, namecalling, abuse........it shouldn't be about people or individuals, but encouraging, educating, and problem solving plus some friendly banter around our common concerns of sleep apnea.

BTW...thank you mars, for serving in Vietnam on behalf of all of us Americans.....

I guess you can sign me as "strange" but not unfeeling or any part of the world of banned.............

This kind of behavior and talk is absolutely NOT what this forum is for, nor is it what it is about!!! You two need to take your spat elsewhere!! PM or go to an IM and have this out in private!!! The rest of us do not need to be subjected to this behavior, and any newcomers that come here looking for help also do not need see this type of behavior.
You both need a spanking and to be put in the corner in timeout until you can make up and play nice!!!!!!

This board has never been about members treating each other so poorly, especially publicly!! I am asking that this type of behavior be put to rest right now, at least publicly anyway. I honestly cannot believe that two grown adults are acting this way.
I for one will complain to Johnny every time I see this, and will hope then that members who can't behave would be banned from posting here at all anymore...

My greatest concern is with the new person who might have come here last night looking for help, saw this post, left the board, went and packed up their CPAP machine, put it in the closet and went to bed!!!

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming “WOO-HOO what a ride!

While I'm not going to throw my Dog into this conflict, I will add, while for you Viet Nam was a Picnic, for 500,000 of us it wasn't, for 50,000 of us it was a bag home. Many thing are far from what they seem, I don't know about why they shot your way. Nothing is more dangerious than a gun in the hand of a soldier, many times without intention, I and friends were missed by inches by a round shot by accident from one of our own troops. Just another "Day in the Nam", if you can hear it pass you, you had a good day. Jim

Mars. Dude. Seems to me that you're giving us, like, maybe an 8 or a 10 these days on the old righteousness/judgment/attack/defense meter. As a personal favor, is there any chance you could dial that back to somewhere between a 1 and a 3 for awhile? Thanks.

Meanwhile, you might want to think about the old days:

Howdy All,

We're here to help newbies. No matter how much of a bum the other guy is, visitors to our community look at this and turn around to leave. We could be the only chance that visitor has at a normal and healthy life. Think hard about that before fighting. What if you were that visitor, would you take the pot shot back at them?

It is not my place as an admin to ban every nasty who walks along. Its your job as a community to rally against them, showing the politeness that they did not. If that does not work, then let me know as they've forced me to get out the stick. Before then, I just own the land. You keep the streets clean.

To the combatants: please (please, please) cool it off or take it private.

Johnny
