Lowest AHI ever !!!

Post by Spirit » Thu Feb 18, 2010 12:08 pm

Hi,
Went to auto 2 nights ago, lowest AHI since I began therapy Aug 09,. Will stay at set pressure 9-15 for a week Pressure increased alot to reduce AHI. Prescribed cpap pressure was 8cm, after titration.

My sleep hours have not been the best the past 5 day's, staying up at night, sleeping a few hours and taking naps. I seriously need to restore my sleep pattern. All the excitement from software is creating insomnia Will work on getting full night sleep.

Any thoughts on my data ??
Thanks

Awsome!

Your leak rate was low, and you had a fairly steady pressure all night. Looking good!

I recently had a couple of nights like this, but then had a awful 3.8 night. Don't get too encouraged, or discouraged by one single night. You want to keep this type of night up on a regular basis, and ignore the single nights that don't go as expected (put them out of your mind!).

Wishing you the best!

That's great. I had my best night a few nights ago. AHI = 1.6 (AI = 0.0, HI = 1.6).

Last night was not so good, but it happens once in a while.

Thanks for replies. It surely has been a journey. Data thrilled the he!! out of me upon waking. Only one other time, AHI was 2.5, the rest of the time 4.4 or higher. Seems to me, needed more pressure then prescribed. I'm sure, I will have good/bad nights, but my goal is to keep AHI low as possible. Will update overall data in a week.

Now need to work on sleep pattern consistency, some nights very hard to sleep with an active mind, surely beats a zombie brain Once I stop taking afternoon naps, sleep pattern will restore.

My leak rates has alway's been outstanding with Quattro mask. Guess, I'm one of the lucky ones.

From my uneducated glance it looks very good and I am happy for you to have had such a good night. The almost 7 hours of usage is great.
I realize you might not achieve this every night but you now know it is attainable and hopefully won't get too discouraged when a not so restful night occurs.

Applause, Applause! Even with my limited knowledge of your machine's data, I can tell you had a great 7hr night, wonder how you're feeling today? I think you've made a lot of folks here happy with this report!

That is great news. And I know how you feel because last night I had an AHI of 0.9 which is the lowest I have achieved so far. I usually range around 2.5 to 3.5. Good luck getting those low numbers!!!

Hi everyone,
Thanks so much for inspirational support, and all your help. Uploading another graph, my leak rate nearly flatlined entire duration of sleep Only one 10 sec apnea flag, that's a major improvement, still lots of hypops. Let's see how auto, works for me 5 more nights. Reducing hypops sure is difficult, majority of my AHI is alway's hypops.
Cheers
