Tissue collapsing in back of sinus cavity??

Post by SuperGeeky » Tue Nov 17, 2009 10:32 am

Hi all: I just had a really odd experience. I took a nap, woke up with a sensation of the passageway behind my nose collapsed. Not a long drawn out snore, but a quick 'thunk'.

I generated a Encore Report and was flagged with a Apnea before waking. If I have my mouth taped shut and breathing through my nose, can tissue in the sinuses collapse in such a way to prevent breathing.

I awoke in my first Sleep Study to the sensation of my throat like a wet straw that had flattened. They didn't have to tell me the diagnosis. I knew!!

How many places along the respiratory tract, sinuses to throat, can obstruct??

Thanks everybody!!

SG
