I try to build some exercise into daily life.

I'm not a believer in jumping into the car, driving to the gym, working up a sweat, then driving home.

Earlier this evening I walked down to the grocery & hardware stores to pickup a few things. When I do have my car out I will park as far away from the entrance as I can... to maximize the walking.

Last summer I was cycling into the office most days. There was a time when I was not working when I would go for long walks every morning... I would leave at 9am and be back home at noon... walking the whole time.

Now that I am working at home I have to make more of an effort to get some daily exercise.

I get paid 3 hour a week to go too the gym, pending workload that is! Still recovering from broke ankle so it is hard for me, even worse when it is cold..

Exercise is part of my life-it's part of who I am. Regardless of how sick or tired I became in all of this- I never gave up my exercise regime. The alarm goes off at 4:30 am, I'm out on the road for a 10-15 km run and as my name implys I workout at Crossfit 5 times a week. I throw X-country skiing in with that in the winter and Mountain biking in the summer. I love the feelings that are released when I workout hard.

I have to exercise to keep my sanity. Releases stress (big time), helps my insomnia and I keep weight off. There are days that all I want to do is fall in front of the TV, but I force myself to the basement and do my 30 minutes on the elliptical (and always feel better for it).

I am a gym person. I prefer to exercise outside, but the climate doesn't allow for that in the winter, plus I need to do something with the kiddos. They have fun playing while I can watch tv and burn some calories.

Hmmm,

After a couple of years getting up early & going for a 5km walk/jog fell by the wayside. Also tried 5-7 km similar at work during luch break but that too fell in a heap.

The only way it now works is I stopped driving to work & walk 5 km home from where the bus drops me off this works - if I don't walk I don't get home. Getting to work
adds 2 kms in the morning all in all it is working. Next trick will be to copy carbonman & bike everywhere - am already giving serious though to the 16 kms from home to work & back

Time will tell

Cpap has enabled me to move again. I am in the Gym at work 4 days a week. 15 minutes on the universal and 45 minutes on the elliptical. Sweating like a pig, heart at 125 all the while. It is amazingly beneficial to my psyche. When I started I was embarrassed about it (what is the fat guy exercising for?). Now it's like, screw 'em.

I walk 3+ miles 5-7 times a week....though it isn't always a brisk walk (or it might only start as one...)

When it is nice, I'll replace some of the walks with riding my bike.
