Just received new APAP machine - can't make adjustments?

Post by bootz » Wed Apr 30, 2008 9:08 pm

I just received my Respironics M Series with A-Flex. For some reason the machine is locked to A-Flex and doesn't let me choose a pressure range among many other things. I was under the impression that the machine would be unlocked unless the prescription said otherwise?

Anyways the only settings I can change are A-Flex level, Mask Alert, and Auto Off.

Therapy Mode and all of the Pressure settings are locked unless I am missing something? Hopefully I don't have to send the unit back to be reprogrammed.

Bootz, please PM me your email address. I'll be glad to send you the Provider manual for that machine.

Boy do I feel like an idiot:

Accessing provider mode unlocks additional settings that cannot be modified by the user. To access provider mode:
1. Plug the AC power cord into the power supply and an electrical outlet.
2. Hold down both the left and right buttons while simultaneously plugging the power supply into the device. Once the device beeps twice, it is in provider mode and you can release the buttons. The Provider Mode Standby screen (shown on the next page) will appear.

Thanks again for your help rested gal!

The DME indrusty is a little like buying a new car, and the dealer takes your keys out and puts them up for bid on Ebay. Jim

hey there bootz

I think these instructions are for an older model...mine is a newer system one

the only two buttons on the machine are the big round button that shuts it on and off and sets the control (if you know how to get in), and the ramp button

You're absolutely right, Evan. The instructions bootz found were for a Respironics machine he had in 2008...long before the Philips Respironics System One machines like you have were even being manufactured. You have a very good, much newer machine, Evan.
