2nd sleep test now moderate not severe osa

Post by woozle » Mon May 21, 2007 9:21 pm

Just an update - was diagnosed last yr w/ severe osa at 76 ahi average per hour - since then, had major nasal surgery and lost 20 pounds - and 2nd sleep study notes my ahi is now at 24 - HUGE DIFFERENCE
I am STILL having problems with my sinuses and any mask that I use, although I am still compliant - but allergy meds make things much better, and now that I am at the moderate level, am going to try out a dental appliance and possibly alternate with it later on if it works, with the swift to lessen the pressure on my sinuses - anyway, if you have probs with nasal passages and contemplating surgery, it really helped with me
good luck all

I'm so glad to hear that the surgery made such a great difference for you! AND Congrats on the weight loss! Keep tweaking and trying masks, your bound to find one that works for you.
