Since 1962? 7
Of the 7, how many were related to the use of CPAP?

Let me guess. None.

Another question....
Of the 7 how many were related to doing nasal rinses with tap water or going swimming somewhere that the brain eating thing resides and inhaling a bit of that water up their nose?

The world it s full of alarmists--who seem to take comfort in scaring others.
When I was pregnant, they brought up countless bad labor tales.
When starting chemo, somebody's boss "died from chemo".
These people are like weeds--they will spring up anywhere--and thrive on feces.

He said he only cleans with distilled because of a brain amoeba that could be in the tap water.
More likely that his brain has already been eaten.

Great question, given the extreme rarity of this infection it's odd that I distinctly recall in the last year hearing someone had this, or maybe even died of it, and it was attributed to a neti pot rinse with water that was somehow contaminated. Probably tested their tap water after the fact and found the little guys floating around in there. And when they say "tap water" they never seem to say "city water" or "well water" which seems pretty relevant.

Good lord, I *grew up* on a lake, swimming multiple times a week. How EVER did I survive?

(though, thinking back on it, I never did like getting water up my nose, so I was "that kid" that pinched his nose when jumping in, maybe that saved me. OTOH, nobody died that I ever heard of down there, maybe they hadn't invented them thingies when I was a kid, it was a simpler time).

Why remove the boogieman factor?

Sensational headlines get more views.

Add to that, anybody who believes that they can get braining eating amoeba through CPAP, doesn't have enough food source for the amoeba anyway.
Good thing I was not drinking when I read that!
