Altering filters

Post by DAYMX5 » Fri Feb 24, 2023 1:32 pm

I have a ResMed 11 that I just got. I had a 10 and have a lot of the allergy filters left over. The 11 filters are extremely thin & I question their ability to filter out any allergens. Would it be safe to cut down the 10's filers to fit in the 11s? I don't want to over tax the machine.

The filters that I use in my AirCurve 10 are bonded along the 4 edges. If you cut one or more of the edges off to resize the filter those edges will no longer be bonded/connected. I wouldn't think that this would be an ideal solution.

These filters are not that expensive, get the correct filters instead.

YMMV

Medicare negotiates lower prices on most items.
Filters are a huge exception, with Medicare prices way more than online.
Buy them online--not from a DME.
