Mask marking problems

Post by Chris333 » Sat Mar 20, 2021 2:18 pm

I've been using cpap for a while now (4-5 years). And still every time I wake up I have deep marks from the mask straps running down each cheek and around the back of my neck. Sometimes up to 8 hours after I wake up I can still see these lines on my face. My eyes feel and look very puffy from the mask pushing on my face. The mask is tight, but if I roll on my back and the pressure goes up the mask will leak. So it should be even tighter. I already wear one of those cancer beanie hats under the straps so my hair doesn't have any permanent marks in it.

What do you guys do about all these face markings? Luckily I have a few hours after I wake up before going to work, but if I had to just wake up and go to work like many do I'd have to stop cpap. I've tried 3-4 different masks over the years, but they all still strap on to your head.

Thanks
Chris

Or try the Bleep. No straps to leave marks. Not only helped my strap marks, it cleared up my mask acne! And helped my dry eye from mask and exhaust leaks.

Yeah I didn't even mention all the ingrown hairs I need to dig out from the straps.

Thank you for the suggestions!

I used to (and still do) the phillips repironics total face mask for years. It's the fireman's-looking mask. it leaves a long mark going down both sides of my cheeks. You can imagine the remarks I got from my coworkers... on who's butt I was...... oh well!
You can use the lotion of your choice to treat the area. The best method i found to remove the marks was to run very hot water on a wash rag and wash the red area. In about a half an hour, the red marks would dim. I eventually gave up and told folks I fell asleep on a hot BBQ grill....

Mask liner or try a different mask. Do you absolutely need to use a full face mask? What mask are you using

I'm using a F20 mask right now. Yes I need a full one as my mouth keeps opening up once I fall a sleep.

I ordered some pads from Pad A Cheek.

Just wanted to come back and say the strap pads from PadACheek.com work perfectly. 2 days now with no marks at all!

Thanks
