Ramp up feature on AirSense 10 question

Post by sunnyU » Sun Feb 16, 2020 8:55 pm

Is there a way to adjust Ram up feature to start at lower than 4? We just got the machine for my 4 yr old. It's a bit difficult for him to exhale at pressure 4, so when I turn the machine on at night, it wakes him up instantly. He's fine using it during the day when watching TV so I think if it started at lower pressure and would slowly increase to 4 (or w/e he needs) it might work. Right now the pressure goes from 0 to 4 in just few seconds. (Falling asleep with the machine isn't happening just yet)

No...the ResMed machine won't go below 4 cm ever....even in ramp.

Has he been examined by a pediatric ENT for airway obstructions such as enlarged tonsils and adenoids?

Are you aware that a knowledgeable orthodontist can use devices such as braces and palate expanders to permanently increase the airway size? Four is not too young to have an initial consultation.

Hopefully, he will soon adapt to CPAP.

Yes, we are looking at all these options and also into allergies. But it’s all taking a while, so we asked for CPAP to help him breath now.

May God bless you and your son. The steps you are taking now could lead to a very bright future for the young boy. Modern medicine can be so wonderful.
