They both say they have compliance reporting via SD card.

The AirSense has detailed usage data, the AirStart doesn't.

Steer clear of the AirStart. It's a brick.

I got a feeling my cheap ass insurance company will try to stick me with the Air Start.

I will refuse it if they do.

The insurance company pays the same for all non-bilevel machines, thuy don't care... Now, the cheap ass DME... That's a different story.

Insurance companies rarely care about model or brand of machine. They just pay by HCPCS billing code.
Now your cheap ass DME might be wanting more profit in their pocketbook and lay the blame off on the insurance company but it's the DME who is greedy.

The HCPCS billing code for the AirSense 10 (all 4 models) and the AirStart 10 models (however many they have) is exactly the same and insurance will pay exactly the same no matter which model the DME supplies.
E0601 pays the same no matter which model or brand.

Stick to your guns, and head toward the door if faced with push-back.
