SleepyHead Bug Reporting?

Post by iisfaq » Wed Sep 05, 2018 5:02 pm

Hi

I have a major issue with SleepyHead in that it crashes at 96% when importing data. I only just installed it and first time trying to use it.

I tried to file a bug report but the bug reporting site is Under Maintenance - http://bugs.jedimark.net/

I cant find a contact for Jedimark that works (https://jedimark.net/contact - page not found) and I am wondering what is the proper way to submit a bug report in the current environment?

I am using the latest build SleepyHead-1.0.0-beta-2-Snapshot-Win32-OpenGL-20160422.exe

I am running on Windows 10 - Build 1709

The software says that I have a Remstar auto with A Flex.

The software imports the data up to 96% and then stops and does nothing for a few seconds and then crashes with a Access Violation 0xc0000005 error code (Found in Windows Event Viewer) - the application crashes silently - ie no messages are shown.

Not much you can do and to be honest I wouldn't bother trying to submit a bug report on the SH version you have.
Mark (who came up with SleepyHead) was working on a newer version but seems to have disappeared and not responding to anyone about anything right now.

He won't be doing any bug fixing on the version you have and it remains to be seen when/if this latest version gets released.

Are you wanting just to see your results because you just did a short trial with a machine or are you still using the machine?
The model 561 PR S1 Auto cpap machine was discontinued some years ago and replaced by the DreamStation model line.

I am just doing a trial of the machine at the moment (hired from the Sleep Specialist) and I like the idea of knowing how I do other than a single value I can see on the machine in the morning.

For some reason in New Zealand having private medical insurance does not help with a CPAP machine as they do not cover them at all.

So I am trying to get one though the public hospital system otherwise I will be buying a unit.

I have only been using the machine for 7 days.

Frankly, nobody cares about the version you have, anymore, the new version is supposed to be a full rewrite... (though it probably isn't)

If you want to, you can zip up the *entire* contents of your sd card and upload it to https://www.dropbox.com/request/0LalWvEsijRIgX8sdM7H
and I'll see if it'll import here.

Mark Watkins had not disappeared to everybody. A week ago he told me he needs complete concentration in his work on version 2.0. Het was very disappointed after been carried away in discussions on Discord, while he hoped and expected assistance from friends helping him coding. This way he prevents being frustrated again, knowing it was his own mistake in the first place... Patience please!

In the meantime @iisfaq should realize that AFAIK the CPAP he uses is not (yet?) compatible with SH. I can be wrong though.

Please do realize that a genius like Jedimark needs a different approach than normal slurfers like ourselves, pls be considerate 😍

OP has a system one 60 series auto machine, the ones that came out around 2012, SH has been reading that machine for the last couple of versions. There's something corrupted in his data, and SH isn't handling the error gracefully.

@iisfaq it looks like the data on your SD card is cortupted. Can you try to use another card in your cpap?

That latest version of SleepyHead will indeed work just fine with the Respironics model 561.

All I know left to try is what I always try.....get a fresh download and install after removing the old download and installed product.
Just on the off chance that the downloaded files might have been corrupted and thus not installed properly.

It will work on Windows 10.....that is what I am using on this laptop.

Although not bug-free, Mark still has the 1.1.0 unstable test builds on his site at https://sleepyhead.jedimark.net/testing/1.1.0/

I know there were some import bugs fixed, among many other things. It is not ready for normal use, but then you are broken sometimes something is better than nothing.
1.1.0 uses a much newer version of some needed libraries.

Do you have a virus software installed on your computer?

I used to have that problem if my virus software was scanning the SD card at the same time I was trying to upload. Learned to be patient, let virus software do it's thing first them uploaded.

Worth a try.

It's a SH bug, not a problem with the OPs computer.
