Ways to lower my AHI...

Post by joeljjk11 » Thu Dec 22, 2016 1:15 pm

So I have an Aircurve ASV machine with settings of PS Max of 15, PS Min of 5 and Epap of 9. My AHI numbers are consistently bad and never really under 7, last night they were 7.5 and the night before that 9.4. I had lower pressure settings until a few weeks ago and my numbers were pretty much the same. The only difference now is that I wake up feeling gassy and bloated. It seems like no matter what settings I try on my machine I can never get my numbers in a normal range, they are always elevated. Does anyone know what I can do or what the solution is to this? It should also be noted that I take a very sedating medication at night that I feel makes it difficult to treat my sleep apnea. I have been told by people on this board that I need more pressure but that hasn't really worked. I have also been told by my sleep doctor that I need less pressure and that didn't work. Any suggestions or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Joel

Well, how are you getting your data? Are you using the LCD screen or software like Sleepyhead.
If you're using software, there should be some clues in there. Without seeing some of the reports, it's hard to make recommendations.
I'm not familiar with the ASV machines, so I can't comment on your settings or options, but there are a number of ASV knowledgeable folks on the forum who might be able to offer suggestions if you could post some reports.

Happy Holidays.

Some past history for those who don't remember
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=112458&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

and several pages with different threads with various problems and how he came to be on ASV
search.php?st=0&sk=t&sd=d&author_id=75576&start=90
I don't have time to cherry pick each thread..sorry.
Nor do I have time to offer any ideas. I am leaving for my annual Christmas trip to see my daughter and grandson.
