I read that a 1CM, 2CM and 3CM.

I am using #3.

After all if you break up1.5, these setting would only be of .5CM, 1Cm and 1.5CM witch is too small to be any real help or meaning.
you read it wrong, it's a max of .5cm per number, though it's not well documented, and that varies depending on how you're breathing, so it's only 1.5 when you're breathing really deeply.

resmed EPR is in centimeter steps.

And one more note on the DreamStation VS ResMed system, Shut Down:

The ResMed shuts off so fast and hard it feels like it changes from positive pressure to a vacuum, it is harsh and the mask jams itself onto my face.

The DreamStation cuts ITS pressure softly and does not punch you in the face.

So again my Vote is DreamStation.

Also second night and all is well and again I am having a better night, and again I had at least one three hour sleep cycle which means I got a full cycle done.

So Resmed, three nights all bad, DreamStation two nights and all good.

OK So I feel more and more like Goldilocks…everything HAS to be JUST right…my CPAP system has to be just right, my bed, my pillows, and the temp. just right not too hot and not too cold.

But I have to allow me to be me...

I am really interested in purchasing a Dreamstation Auto but here in Australia they Cost around AUD $2500 and they only seem to offer the cellular model. I am seriously considering ordering one from the US as they are about a third of the price. One question I was after before I order one though does the US model have built in wifi or do you have to purchase the module separately? (Is this needed so the specialist can make changes to your machine online) I have been on a one month trial using a Respironics system one 60 series and also the Resmed Autosense 10. I really like the Resmed but I truly think I have been getting better sleeps with the Respironics. Will the US model work fine with all of the features in Australia?

Thanks

Robbie

I have both machines and run fairly high pressures, 14 - 20 cm with 95% approaching 20. I alternate machines monthly. A complete kit is kept packed in a bag to grab in the morning when I am traveling.

Both machines are excellent. I only reply here to caution newbies who may read this and think their ResMed machine is a problem. It is not. Note that Racprops does not have his therapy under control. If you want advice on a machine, take it from a forum member (not me) who has many posts and lots of experience with many machines and has their own therapy under control.

Racprops, I am glad you found a machine you like. Good luck.

Hmmm... never touch the on/off button. Just take my mask of and it stops. put my mask on and it starts. Nothing harsh about that.

the idea of hooking my cpap up to the internet via wifi really seems like a baaaaaad idea to me.

The WWAN (wireless) access will in all likelihood not work in Oz - it's not of much real use anyway

In my own defense I have had a system for three years..A 960 Philips ASV.

I also had the same suffocating feeling with the ResMed s9 they did my sleep study with.

Here is my report on my three nights with the ResMed S10:

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=110704&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

See my old sleepyhear reports and see what happened with the S10.

TOTAL FAILURE FOR ME.

And on the mask problem a DME Tech suggest that as I was using a Philips Fitlife mask that ResMed does not make anything like it the problem might be with that mismatch.

And he was right.

Rich

Someone is going to have to explain the complaint to me. I don't see a single obstructive event the nights you used the ResMed machine.

I could not sleep longer that 1 and 1/2 a hour at a time I kept waking up..on the third night I was hyperventilating at 50 Breaths a minute.

No AHI is NO good if you do not get any real sleep and rest.

You need at least a three hour sleep cycle to get a real rest.

I did not get one out of three nights..It was killing me.

I was having a adverse reaction to how it treated me.

Your mileage may be different.

better to just ignore this, and move on to more informative things, honestly.

The ResMed even saw my trouble and showed a RERA report:

To answer a question why I am waking up so much, you tell me, normally I do wake up once to twice a night, party to hit the head and party due to my making myself sleep on my left side, I seem to need to work out the kinks once or twice a night.

I think my breathing rate is disturbing my sleep as in:

"RERA stands for "respiratory effort related arousal." These are EEG arousals which aren't associated with a clear-cut apnea or hypopnea but often just a very slight change in your airflow or respiratory effort. It's good to see that the lab reported these disruptions in your sleep as many labs overlook them since they're often very subtle. In the lab I work in, we believe RERA's are important since they do cause your sleep to be fragmented and can contribute to excessive daytime sleepiness."

This was what was wrong...

Rich

that doesn't mean what you seem to think it means. it does not refer to the hyperventilating that you were doing.
