Re: My Husband and Sleep Apnea....I need you help
Hey Judy, Yes!! What he is experiencing is good sleep!!!!!! That's fantastic!!!!! What you shouldn't hear is snoring!!! You'll hear the machine ebb and flow as he breathes, but it should be pretty quiet compared to what you're used to..... To add some to what DreamOn said. With the Activa LT or the ...

Re: Nose bridge raw
People with more experience with the Quattro than I, have provided the "tricks".... There is a fine balance between loose and too loose - Essentially the headgear holds the mask in place but it has to be tight enough so that when the membrane inflates it doesn't leak. That forehead piece is very imp...

Re: Nose bridge raw
In my experience (not with the Quattro Mask) the top straps on your headgear are too tight. The headgear is really there to hold the mask on, not make the seal happen. You have to have it loose enough for the seal to inflate. I had the same issue with a ComfortGel mask until I got the headgear loose...

Re: Straight CPAP or C-Flex??? Which is preferred?
I presently use A-Flex at 3, and while my machine was in CPAP mode it was at C-Flex at 3. Whether or not you use it or not really depends on your comfort. If you're comfortable at no flex, then go for it. It will also depend on your pressure, but that will also affect comfort. It just provides exhal...

Re: Went to see the sleep doc and GUESS WHAT I GOT?
If you don't mouth breathe (and with nasal pillows, I would presume you don't) you might take a look at the Activa and/or Activa LT. They tout what they call "Active Cell" technology, and I have to say, it works very well!!! It has the normal leak issues, but once you get the headgear adjusted to yo...

Re: My Husband and Sleep Apnea....I need you help
When you say that it took you a year to get comfortable with the right mask, in that year that you were trying different ones, did you feel any better at all within that year? And David naps a lot during the daytime, usually sitting in his chair watching tv, should he be wearing the mask hooked up ...

A digital voice recorder is a really good idea....
Mine is an Olympus vn-6200PC. It will record about 77 hours of pretty good quality audio. less hours for higher quality, but I've had no problems with it even in my pants pocket. It was about $70 or so at Amazon.....
cheers

Re: Went to see the sleep doc and GUESS WHAT I GOT?
Again, I'm with SWS in getting a new doctor. One of the big problems in our so called health care system is that there is no accountability for doctors such as yours. They continue on their arrogant path, putting themselves on their holy pedestal to the detriment of their patients - they really don'...

Well. I tried. I really did. I've resisted posting, but my rebellious contrare self has overcome my sensibilities..... Totally understand what Johnny is saying, and have no real legitimate argument. If that's what he requires to sell me stuff....I'm ok with it, and since I have a prescription, and i...

Re: My mama GOT a sleep study!
I would never think to call mom a horse!!!!! No way!!!! Because of my lack of attention to some aspects of my health the improvements I initially got with my xPAP aren't as pronounced as they could be..... Blood pressure is stable at about 125/70 with meds Blood glucose has gone from 103 fasting to ...
