Re: CPAP Basics 5
There is no common ground when the relationship is built on lies. Lincare constantly lied to me about masks. My only choice was a Ultra-Mirage FFM according to them. When I found out that there was a lot more to choose from, they said that they wouldn't work for me. I found through this website that...

Re: Now One month on CPAP and may give up.
I've now been on CPAP for about one month. I've been alternating between the nasal mask and nasal pillows to reach a decision on what I like best but haven't made a decision yet. I do sleep on average 7 hours per night so I have accomplished getting through the night. My first couple of weeks went ...

Re: Sorry Excuse for a DME
My local Lincare only charges $34.11 for Quattro cushions (CPAP.com and some others are $54). $66 for the mask frame ($68 online). They don't inflate for cash purchases. Don't worry, the branch manager will be fired soon and the prices will be back to normal. Well normal for Lincurse. I pay nothing...

As others have said, run away from this quack like your ass is on fire.
Last sleep study was 3 years ago and that was because I was having difficulty with a pressure of 19 and did a bipap study. I wouldn't have done it otherwise.

Re: CPAP Basics 5 - by author of Sleep Well Feel Great CPAP
Hello All, About a month ago, I started this topic to help new users of CPAP with the fundamentals of using their equipment. This week’s question: What do you believe to be the fifth step on the road to success with a CPAP? To recap what's been covered so far: 1. In my opinion, initial mask fit and...

Re: getting s9 auto today Am I entitled to clinican manuel
I wouldn't ask for it. As chunky already pointed out, you don't want to rile them up and then need something later. You aren't entitled to it. It does clearly state that it is to be removed before giving the unit to the patient. If the Resmed police were to find out that they gave it to you, they wo...

Re: I fired my DME, or did he quit?
I asked what his replacement policy was for masks, filters, pillows, etc. He said every 6 months for everything. I asked if that was what my insurance covered, he said there were too many insurance plans out there for him to follow, so his policy is 6 months for everyone and he doesn't have to worr...

Re: Boiling Stuff Part 2
Be careful if you opt to google boiling silicone. You might get some info unrelated to sleep apnea that you might be good with not having knoweldge of... Where do you think some of my inspiration came from? Well that and silicone cooking utensils. I tried boiling the cushion once. Used distilled wa...

I use the bleed in adapter between the humidifier and the hose so it works fine.

Re: 0.0 AHI is achievable
As you have found out, the key is finding the right mask. When I was using a FFM, my AHI was 2.0 - 4.0. After I switched to an Opus 360, it went to a 1.0. I now use an Aloha and have to use supplemental O2 due to positional hypoxia, but my AHI is 0 most nights. One or two nights a week it might hit ...

Re: Have you used a CPAP in the hospital?
I was the one that asked what surgery you are having. I am sorry that you are going through that again. My mom went through that and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. As far as reconstruction goes, it is going to depend on what the plastic surgeon is left to work with. I wish you well. Let us know how y...

Re: Have you used a CPAP in the hospital?
I am one week post-op from a 2 level PLIF l4-s1. I took my own Bi-pap and had only one problem with the staff. It was the anesthesiologist not making sure that it was on after surgery. The nurses were great and they had distilled on the floor just for cpap patients. What I did was assembled the enti...
