Re: How often do you need a new sleep study?

In my opinion you absolutely need a new sleep study every 50 leap years. I did a second sleep study in 2013. But I made sure that I new exactly what would be tested. I called to verify the details of the study. I discovered the location I was scheduled for could NOT test for central sleep apnea, whi...

Crapria told me they don't have SD cards available, even though they had just provided a new Airsense 11 autoset.

Re: My Resmed Airsense 10 Did Not Come With An SD Card, What Should I Buy?

The smallest one I found at Bestbuy was 64 GB for $13. It was definitely overkill, but it was the Friday before Christmas and were bringing home my wife's new Airsence 11. I wanted to be sure I could monitor her therapy details and setup her machine correctly.

Re: Resmed AirCurve 11 announced

Gee. Now I wish I had waited a few more months to replace my old Aircurve 10 with my newer Aircurve 10. I could have gotten the simple button on top to turn it on and off.
Since my insurance actually reimbursed me for 80% of what I paid, I will now have to wait 5 years before I can get that button.

Re: Failed sleep study after 14 years on the hose

My first sleep study was a split night. We were living in our motorhome and traveling full time. The first study was done in Las Vegas. The day after I completed it I was leaving Vegas. When I arrived in the lab parking lot I called to tell them I was there,,they came out and handed me the study res...

Re: Failed sleep study after 14 years on the hose

I never knew you could fail a sleep study. My first one 13 years ago went smooth mild apnoea only 84 AHI. Second one was only a titration for my Bilevel ASV machine (not even included in Philips recall) also went smooth. The last 5 years I have been lucky enough to find used ASV machines here and ha...

Pugsy you were so kind to the doctor. I tried to tiptoe around many sleep doctors likely qualifications. You stated my opinion more clearly.

Re: Kaiser changes machine settings

If you drive a commercial vehicle like an over the road truck or bus that requires a commercial drivers license, the licensing authority may require a sleep study and if you are shown to have apnea they may require proof of compliance with your therapy.

Re: Kaiser changes machine settings

The last time a sleep doctor recommended a change to my settings I tried his recommendation for MAYBE A HALF HOUR. Then I made an adjustment to the opposite of his. That worked much better. My experience is most sleep doctors either don't know how to view detailed data beyond what is displayed on th...

Re: Dreamwear PR mask

Which model of Resmed do you have? They have made dozens of machines over the years. I f I had my machine or my wife's machine set at a fixed pressure of 6, We would feel like we were suffocating. Look at your data in the morning to see what's going on. Then decide who will control your therapy, you...

Re: Newly Diagnosed CSA... scared

If you already know you have mixed/central apneas, I would insist on a Bipap ASV titration study and an ASV machine. I have been using my ASVs (third one now) for over a decade. When I was prescribed my ASV there was no debate. Went in for my Bilevel titration. Was prescribed an ASV unit. Went and p...

Re: S10 BIPAP FOR SALE

There are at least three models of the Aircurve 10 bipap machines. None are refered to as S 10. It would be helpful if you could provide the exact model of your machines. Also the S 10 designation usually refers to the Airsense 10 which is not a Bipap and also has several different models. The Airse...

Re: Any way to make a heavy climate-control hose less awkward?

I have been using the Sleepweaver Feather weight hoses for a decade, on Sleepweaver masks and others including the P30i my wife is using now.
It will definitely work with any mask you can connect a slimline or heated hose to.

Re: p30i nasal pillow

With the P30i there is no need to remove the mask when you go for a rest room break. Simply pinch the clips on top of your head and remove the elbow where your hose connects. Or, get a Sleepweaver feather weight 18" hose to go between your heated hose and the mask. Then disconnect the 2 hoses, and t...

Re: New CPAP user - Longest night I've been able to keep it on

Everyone is different! For me if my pressure goes below 6 I feel like I am suffocating. I would arbitrarily set the pressure for a newb at 6 to 12 with no ramp and no EPR and see how that works after a few days. Then you can look at OSCAR or post here for feedback. I find it is a good place to start...
