Re: Help with figuring out leak rate
mask is resmed mirage quattro full face mask, pressure on cpap is 12 the mask manual shows for that pressure flow rate of 41 (I have no clue on this part yet, still learning) The software shows 11.5 AHI is 2.5 (which i am asuming is pretty good) As I understand it, the data in the mask tables are f...

Re: humidifier settings
The air tube could collect moisture (condensation) if the room temp is cool. To avoid it you could: 1) Get an insulated tube cover like this: https://www.cpap.com/productpage/snuggle-hose-tube-cover.html?gclid=CLHz6buAhqYCFYde7AodXBOqow 2) Place the CPAP lower than your bed so that the condensation ...

If you're using a Resmed machine and want to discuss your treatment then please try to post these kinds of ResScan data: One night Stats report: http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q241/avilynn_photo/ScreenHunter_320Dec042032.png If you have, 30 days Stats report: http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...

Re: Long sleep times
I'm pretty sure I've read that Ambien should not be taken later than Midnight as it will have side effects like hangover and headache the next day. They do make an extended release tab called AmbienCR which might help your situation if you contacted your Dr. Thanks. I looked at Ambien CR but it cos...

Re: cpap prerssures vs altitudes
Here is an old report with a table showing the pressures vs. altitudes (it's also mentioned above): http://chestjournal.chestpubs.org/content/108/6/1577.full.pdf+html Another approach if using the same CPAP machine is first to find the atmospheric pressure at both locations: http://www.engineeringto...

[quote="parabellum"][quote="KatieW"][quote="parabellum"] Then I look at at AHI, I look at the AI--and the breakdown between CAI and OAI. A few centrals are normal, and I find I get more if I'm over-tired, and I don't worry about them. I look at the obstructive apneas, and whether they are short (10-...

Re: Full Face Mask worst option according to professionals?
There are several kinds of FFM. For example this one: https://www.cpap.com/productpage/1410 and this one: http://www.cpap-supply.com/FitLife-Total-Face-Mask-p/1060801.htm The FitLife mask seems to require more headgear tightness. On another forum there is a poster complaining about it after undergoi...

Re: Long sleep times
My story is a bit different. I started using a CPAP (S8 Escape II, under Medicare) a month ago. Being a retiree I would have no problems with long sleep. However, if I go to sleep at or before 10 pm and get up at 8 am, when my wife gets up, it would be too much sleep for me b/c then I wake at 4 am a...

Re: How do I figure my leak rate?
Hi, as I understand it, the data for a mask in the supplied table that comes with the mask, is for the passive venting (in the mask). For proper operation you need air flow greater than this. Mask leakage is the extra air flow above the indicated passive venting in the table. The acceptable mask lea...
