Re: Help w CPAP, Swift FX & .... drool!
1. Yes you should ask for a better machine (In fact demand it, especially if its being paid for through your benefits) ... S9 autoset! They gave you a basic machine with compliance reporting (No useful data). 2. Yes its possible and quite common to drool, as you go deeper into sleep there is a good ...

Re: Respironics Wisp - First Impressions
After going back to original adjustments on the wisp my AHI last night was back below 1.0 (AHI= 0.7, 0.2 obstructive & 0.3 central), and I slept very very well. I realized that I had adjusted the mask so that it was sitting too high up and causing my intake breaths to suck against the bottom causing...

Re: Respironics Wisp - First Impressions
I got my Wisp last week from my DME 1st two nights were great, AHI was less than 1.0 after that my numbers went up as did the leaks (possibly my fault as I was trying to better an already good thing). I used the fabric headgear for the 1st night only then moved over to the silicone headgear which I ...

Re: Feeling worse after a week on cpap
I'll also chime in here .... Its very common for people starting CPAP to feel good at first then feel like hell (Worse than before being on cpap), Its your body adjusting. Stick with it! this is quite often when people fail and just give up. You will usually find very subtle changes (improvements) s...

Re: new Wisp mask?
I've been using this mask for a week and I think I'm sending it back. I'm bummed because I was so excited about it because it's such a smaller profile and I love the design of it. I'm going to give it another week and then decide for sure. But my issues are that I'm finding I'm having a lot of leak...

Re: new Wisp mask?
Update - I had a reasonabley good night, AHI 0.9, pressure 8.4 to 13.8 cm but the headgear was uncomfortable caused redness below my right eye near the top right side of the cushion (may have been too tight), I love that it was very comfortable when on my back, but I mostly sleep on my side. I'm try...

Re: new Wisp mask?
Just got mine, going to try it tonight. I've put it on, adjusted my machine for nasal setting. Seems to be very hard to breath with it on compared to my Swift FX, but we'll see.
I'll report back tomoorow

Re: STOPPED breathing for over a minute in REM sleep
I too was told to never nap or sleep without my machine as I may not wake up (ever). I have severe apnea - 70/hr, longest stoppage of just over 30 seconds, the specialist figures I've had sleep apnea for at least 30 yrs or so and I'm only 47. I'm getting my Auto machine (S9 Autoset) finally in a cou...

Re: Ants!
The small tiny ants sound like sugar ants. They are attracted to sugars/sweets and are usually found around areas where crumbs are left behind (quite often in the carpet). A good cleaning around the area and in behind tables/night stands will help, but we have them here as well and I've found a few ...

Re: Help.. with apap i am snoring again what to do?
There are a few machines that do go as low as 3cm even though the standard is 4-20 range. I would keep the auto machine as its a better machine in that it is capable of both modes should your needs change ( and they will eventually ). The apap does take a bit to get used to and can be hard to get us...

Re: DeVilbiss Wants Your Input
I have not had the use of an intellipap yet, but have used both an old M-series and now (trialing) a S9 autoset. I like a separate humidifier that way if I travel to a place where I don't need the humidifier it can be separated and left behind (luggage space). I really like the heated hose as my pla...

Re: A Nasty, Wet, Cold Surprise
One other thing you could try is to place a wick inside your masks tube (near the exhaust vent) to try and soak up any moisture from your breath.

Re: A Nasty, Wet, Cold Surprise
What you are experiencing is called "Rainout", routing the hose low works only if the volume of water is limited. It sounds like the moisture is polling in the low spot and when it gets too much and fills the tube you suck it up. The Fleece cozy does help but it will not solve this, depending on the...
