Re: Sleep Apnea and Restless Leg Syndrome
Hi Lorri214, As luck would have it (or not in my case) I do suffer from Obstructive and Central Sleep Apnea as well as Restless Legs Syndrome. Unfortunately RLS is another beast and won't be treated by CPAP. There have been some suggestions that RLS is linked to Sleep Apnea or caused by Sleep Apnea ...

I would try ResScan 3.10 to be on the safe side.

Re: My S9 AutoSet arrived today
I would complain to them because you should have received both hoses. You shouldn't use the slimline hose on the humidifier as far as I know.

Re: My S9 AutoSet arrived today
The S9 is working out great for me. I've had it for a month now, I think I was one of the first to get it in the UK, I find it's much more quieter than the previous machines and technology has moved on a lot in the last 5 years. I do have the ClimateLine hose, but you only get that hose if you also ...

Re: How long does it take from a newbie
Hi Lorri214, glad to see you're getting your first start on CPAP treatment. You asked how long it takes before you get a good night. Well sleep deprivation takes time to catch up, so it does kind of depend on how long you've had sleep apnea for. For most they start to see a difference after a week o...

Re: Is it really necessary to clean tubing?
Same here, I think I've rinsed my hose around twice in 5 years. I know the manufacturers suggest you should rinse it weekly otherwise things like bacteria could build up but I've never really had any problems.

Re: My S9 AutoSet arrived today
I just dug out my original 5yr old prescription that I scanned (just in case I needed it in future) and it does only stipulate fixed pressure. I do remember ResMed saying that on the first S8 Elite I was looking at they would recommend the S8 AutoSet Spirit (obviously a little expensive) but they we...

Re: My S9 AutoSet arrived today
dave21 - Are you saying you don't need a prescription to buy the machine in the UK? No you do unfortunately need a prescription from your doctor/hospital. I had my initial prescription 5 years ago. I provided the ResMed form to my doctor who signed it and put my titration rate on the form. Since I ...

Re: Trying out my new Swift FX for the first time tonight!
I'm glad it went well for you. I could never stomach the Swift LT and ResMed have also confirmed to me that there is a difference in how the Swift FX distributes air. I think there's a similar change in the S9 machine too. I'm not too sure how, but I'm wondering if it's more of a cyclone effect rath...

Re: My S9 AutoSet arrived today
LOL - I can imagine! I would usually be the same if I couldn't get hold of the latest tech gear. Still waiting for the Apple iPad! I unfortunately stumbled on the S9, a friend who is registered with RealSleep (ResMed Sleep Vantage) received their newsletter in the post and I didn't. I went onto thei...

Re: After good sleep, how long before feeling fully awake?
I find after 5 years on CPAP I always nearly always wake up before my alarm which I set at 6:30am. I guess it depends on what you call fully awake. When I realise I'm awake and still on my machine, I tend to lie there for 5-10 mins before deciding to switch off the machine and get out of bed. I feel...

Re: ResMed S9 supports SDHC
I have ordered a 16gb Sandisk SDHC card and will let you know how I get on. If it works in the S9 it should provide around 5,285 days of data storage (just under 14.5 years of data)
