Changeover from CPAP to VPAP (ASV) - Why? How good?
I see a very large preponderance of CPAP machine users here, but relatively few (ResMed) VPAP or (Respironics) ASV machines. These machines are relatively new, about 4 years now I believe, and are made thus far by only these two companies. They are both considered Auto or Adaptive Servo-Ventilation ...

Re: Sample reports from Sleepyhead and Oximetry.
Thanks, Burkebank, for the tip re. Dropbox. I'll look into that for sure. I'm intrigued what you guys are doing. Sounds fun and interesting with health benefits! What do you think about the REM graphical indications? That's a whole lot of REM showing up. Is it credible? Do you and you too, MarkDarks...

Re: Why S9 AutoSet so Popular vs. S9 Elite (Resmed)?
All of you: Roger, Pugsy, chunkyfrog -- you guys are GOLDEN. My instincts were telling me the same thing. Thank you very much for the valuable input. This group is a great example of how discussion groups and their widescale access via the web can be so empowering to private individuals and patients...

Re: Newbie - Making progress - Redness on Bridge of Nose
DrPepper00, That's amazing. So you report that your apnea events, both central and obstructive went to zero (or very very low levels) because use of the chin strap enabled you to get an outstanding pillows seal? How long have you sustained such good results? What brand and model chin strap and pillo...

Re: Time Scale Adjustment and ResScan Software Updates
Right on, Pugsy. You were right on the mark. Unfortunately, the sleep center tech did not active and make 'Settings' accessible by me. Do you or anybody reading this know how to make 'Settings' functional so I can adjust the S9 Elite for the correct time?
Thank you,
Papit

Re: Why S9 AutoSet so Popular vs. S9 Elite (Resmed)?
Thank you, chunkyfrog and anyone else who'd like to add to this thread. As the S9 AutoSet seems like a no-brainer relative to the S9 Elite basic CPAP machine, here's a follow-up question on the subject. Are there any particular reasons why some DME's or Doctors or Sleep Centers, especially with resp...

Time Scale Adjustment and ResScan Software Updates
Does anybody have any ideas as to how I can correct the time scales on my ResScan 3.14 detailed graphs. The events on all graphs are consistently and erroneously posted by the ResScan software two (2) hours behind their true actual clock times (both in 24-hour and am/pm formats)? Related to that, it...

My Detailed Graphs re. Leaks and Apnea Events - yours too?
As I noted in my 3:05 pm post today Mon Jan 09, 2012, I tried to attach the oddly correlating Rescan version 3.14 detailed graphs re. the huge majority of coincidences or correlations between apnea events and even small leakages. [ I need your permission, Board Monitors, to please give me access to ...

What gives re. Centrals and Events Graphs (alike)?
Very impressed with the quality of the posts and the helfulness of the members here. Perhaps some folks can help me with a perplexing observation I have made of my detailed graphs. It was actually first pointed out to me at a sleep center. She suspected that my preponderance of Central Apneas is rel...

Why S9 AutoSet so Popular vs. S9 Elite (Resmed)?
I'm seeing so many S9 AutoSet machines in use here and hardly any S9 Elite CPAPs. How come? Is there a good reason? Is the S9 Elite much newer and not as much in use for that reason? Or is the Autoset preferred because ???it can do everything the Elite can do and much more that the Elite cannot? Tha...

Re: Newbie - Making progress - Redness on Bridge of Nose
Three great ideas so quickly from this board. Super. This is a cool site. Thanks for the advice: 1-"I have been using the same gel nose protector for almost 6 months. Just rinse it every morning and it dries during the day. No need to buy a new one every month." 2-"the key is to have the air cushion...

Newbie - Making progress - Redness on Bridge of Nose
Hello everybody, This is my third week with CPAP (Resmed S9 Elite CPAP with Mirage FX Nasal Mask), the biginning of my hi-tech assisted breathing and sleeping journey. Since childhood, I almost always have had long delays in falling asleep and during my working career as an engineer have been on the...

Re: Fellacio and Sleep Apnea
Hilarious! A little humor can't hurt; might even help a bit.
On the technical side, would be a hoot to check out the detailed charts if you have the software re. AHI and "leakage", etc. : )
Happy New Year, everybody!
