Medicare and CPAP
I'm getting close to being Medicare-eligible and am trying to evaluate the multiple Medicare Part B alternatives. Do CPAP machines, masks, etc. fall under the Part B Medical Services category, "Physician, outpatient supplies, and certain preventive care"? If so, what is the current Medicare-approved...

Re: Cleaning Equipment in Foreign Countries
I've used a SteriPen ultraviolet light water purifier when I had questions about water quality. I definitely would NOT use a questionable water source in my CPAP without having treated the water first.

Re: Nasal Pillows---how do you use them?
Try a larger pillow size. The outside rim of the pillow should rest outside of your nostrils, not inside.

I always assumed that the "4 hour warnings" were the drug companies' most effective form of advertising.Wulfman wrote:I often have to chuckle when I hear the "Warnings" when they advertise these drugs (Viagra, Cialis & Levitra) on TV.

I saw them on cpap.com's web site. I was just wondering, too.tomjax2 wrote: Just wondering

Re: Bacterial & Viral Filters
Inhaling mildew! That's something I never thought about. I might be better off inhaling any bacteria and viruses in the air.
Maybe that's why cpap.com suggests letting it dry if it appears wet.

Bacterial & Viral Filters
Anyone use the in-line bacterial & viral filters (https://www.cpap.com/productpage/In-lin ... bipap.html)? Do you think they're worthwhile?

Re: Hiking at High Altidudes
I'll just repeat what I posted earlier. My M Series machine (Auto with A-flex) seemed to work without any problem (and without any pressure adjustments) at altitudes as high as 13,500 feet. If it was me, assuming I could work out the battery logistics, I'd just go on the trip and enjoy myself.

Sham's response is true in the U.S. However, in London (at least, several years ago in London), we were permitted only one carry on, medical equipment included.

Re: Do Full Face masks help with nasal congestion?
I've found that nasal pillows work well as long as there's some air that can get through the nasal congestion. On the other hand, if your nose is 100% congested, a full face mask may be your only alternative.

Re: Which APAP is the best?
If exhalation relieve (c-flex, a-flex, epr etc.) is or may be important to you, make sure that the machine you get provides this relief when it is in auto mode. In the past, some machines only provided exhalation relief when they were operating in straight cpap mode.

I had the appropriate plug adapter and just plugged it into an electrical outlet. No need for batteries.Balding_Eagle wrote: Greyhound how did you power your device?

I used my Respironics M Series Auto in Peru at altitudes as high as 13,500 feet and had no problems. For what it's worth, my pressure range was 12-15.

Re: It's SleepWeaver--not DreamWeaver
My sleep doctor has a weekly mask clinic in which a DME is available for mask testing and fitting. I tested the SleepWeaver yesterday and, even though I've had excellent experience with my Swift LT, I liked the SleepWeaver very much. I didn't experience any significant leaks while on my back or when...

Thanks for the replies. I was almost certain of the answer, but wanted to be absolutely certain.
