Re: 6 yr old with sleep apnea arrested

The litigation issues with arresting and handcuffing a six year old child are enormous and any lawyer would have a field day. This has to be fake news.

Re: Taking BiPAP to Europe- how to plug in?

If it's an overnight flight you might need to check with the airline about using their onboard power supply but as the flight is about 8 hours this probably won't be an issue. I traveled recently through Europe and all i had to do was make sure I had the correct power adaptor as my machine's power b...

Re: Bipap Recommendation

If you were currently using a Resmed then stick with that. The same goes for a Respironics. It has to be Auto! If you don't get auto then refuse to accept it.

Re: System one 560p Auto on not workin

I am using a resmed F10 full face mask. I will try your suggestion tonight. To make sure that there are no problems when I take it to the hospital, I am planning on taping a note to it to alert the staff that the auto on doesn’t always work and to manually turn it on. I don’t want any problems in t...

Re: Time for new machine

My diagnosis is purely for obstructive sleep apnoea so I don't really need anything more than an APAP machine. However, a fair amount of research suggested that using BiLevel/BiPAP would improve my sleep experience. A good analogy could be made with cars. I don't need much more than a car that has a...

Re: New here resumed S9 question re: auto on/off

Thank you for the timely responses. Made the change and we’ll see how it works out tonight. I’ll pull the card tomorrow and check the data vs. sleepyhead. On a related note how common is it for someone to switch to or start mouth breathing after wearing a nasal mask trouble free for 12 years? Psych...

Re: DreamWear is a dream for me

The DW is a great mask for 'active' sleepers and worked very well for me with one caveat - the air did seem to leak up towards my eyes. Changing to the nasal pillow version solved this but created other problems - mainly irritation on the inside of my left nostril. So up until recently I've been rot...

Re: Emirates Airlines allows CPAP use on board but no connection to aircraft power socket

Emirates is not the only airline that discriminates against cpap users. Any business that chooses this course deserves to be ignored--except in court. I'm not sure I'd call this discrimination. Airplane electrical systems are tricky ecosystems, and the amperage draw from an xPAP (especially if some...

Re: Found a PERFECT solution to CPAP Travel!

I recently flew to Canberra and back which meant flying on a turbo prop. The smaller plane meant that overhead luggage was a bit restricted and many passengers on the flight from Sydney to Canberra with larger carry on bags had to drop them at the plane for collection later. As my back pack is not t...

Re: First I've heard of it: Resmed N30i

I am a long term DW user (cushions and pillows) and have had the N30i for over a month now. My main reason for getting it was to see what it would do about some minor leak issues I had with the DW cushions and pillows. In this respect it worked about the same but I feel that If I can tweak how tight...

Re: Emirates Airlines allows CPAP use on board but no connection to aircraft power socket

I flew to the UK in April last year on Emirates. To get a good power supply I went business class. I booked a bulkhead seat for the flight across on the A380 which makes it quite private. The power socket was at the back of the seat and would not have been easy to see once the cabin lights were turn...

Re: Travel Machine Recommendations for. BiPAP user

The travel machines are not really that much smaller when you consider that you still have to carry them. I've got a backup BiPAP machine (S9) that I carry with me when I fly. It comes in its own carry case which I can fit over my shoulder along with my onboard back pack. I can also fit the machine ...
