Re: Central vs Obstructive Sleep Apnea

I always want to ask the Drs who say that basic machines are fine how they intend to know how well my treatment is proceeding, and how they will know what to adjust if the results are not as good as they would like. If all they get is AHI, there is no way to know the type of events driving the AHI, ...

Re: What your insurer and DME know

My Dr is the same, he will not write a prescription for more than 1 year. Every time I see him or his NP they fax a new prescription over to the DME, and give me a new one for my records. I wonder if it is a Oregon restriction that prescriptions can be only written for a year, of is it considered go...

Re: What your insurer and DME know

Not certain, but I don't think they do here in Oregon. Maybe varies by State? I think they leave that up to the DME, since in the scheme of things we have to be under the care of a respiratory therapist at the DME, and thats one way they justify the outrageous prices the DME get to charge the Insure...

Re: What your insurer and DME know

Whenever I go to the Dr. office they record weight, BP, ask what is going on in my life. peer into orifices and remove body fluids. Sometimes they even do anal probes not to mention genital groping. Hell, I would think I have been abducted by aliens or something to do with UFOs. Then they record all...

Re: Help With Hypos

There is no reason to increase the OP max, he is not ever approaching the set max. Increasing the minimum may help as some of the hypopneas occurs when the machine is at it's relatively lower pressure, due to restarting.

Re: Annoynomous AWAKE Sleep Apnea Initiative Survey

Done. My only complaint (and I usually have a few, you know) is that a few of the questions seem to imply/assume there must presently be some problems/concerns with therapy, when that is not the case for those of those who are fully treated by PAP therapy. When there were no choices for expressing ...

Op has never had an XPAP. Sleepyhead would do no good.

Re: my Craigslist find

Some insurance company may well be chasing some poor sod for the return of this one. Makes me wonder if it is supposed to be on rental, did you buy a hot machine and would you be obligated to turn it over to the police if they were to ask for it? Or maybe it was bought outright by someone who hated...

Re: Sleepyhead not working under 1803

I have 3 computers working on various versions of 1803 -I am one of the beta testers through the windows insider program. no issues with Sleepyhead on any of my machines. I would suggest you reinstall sleepyhead.

Re: Help with CAs

I agree with the above try reducing EPR to 1 or off completely you may find your CA’s halve or disappear. It may have no effect if the CA’s are not treatment induced by it’s worth a try. Jason Yes, a small minority of people are more susceptible to the added ventilation that EPR can cause, it cause...

Re: Please help cpap friends

In order to get my FF to work properly, I have to wear it quite tight and use a C-Collar to keep me from opening my mouth too far. My fat, pudgy face is in-between a small and a medium, so getting to just the right place on my face and keeping it near there is critical to getting a leak free experie...

Between 1991 and 2010, among other things, you aged nine years.
That would be a cool trick. How do I get some of that?
It's a little known side effect of APAP therapy.
