Re: Filter Mystery
"You can't put the rubber bands around the machine & humidifier horizontally? Avoiding the knobs etc altogether?" If I can find one that stretches enough. ASV is pretty large when attached to the humidifier. I'm nervous of rubber bands slipping and hitting the ramp or humidifier buttons alongside th...

Re: Recently switched to full face mask - question
I find that my pressures and my AHI are higher when using a full face mask. Like Pugsy says I think it is the nature of the mask not something I’m doing. My ASV is able to raise the pressures so it’s not as big a problem as it would be if I weren’t on an auto set machine. I use a nasal mask most of ...

Re: Filter Mystery
I blamed the cat until he died in August. I must really be coughing or screaming in my sleep. Rubber bands won’t work because of placement of filter in relation to control knob and buttons. I guess I’ll affix Velcro to the back of the machine and make a guard out of plastic canvas. $4000 machine and...

Filter Mystery
I’m trying to figure out how and why the filters keep popping out of my ASV during the night sometimes with such force that they end up on the floor. Everything else on the table is undisturbed. One would think that the constant air flow into the machine would hold them in place. My old ASV had a gu...

Re: Why are my numbers so much higher with a FFM?
No suggestions, but wanted to let you know you are not alone. My pressures and AHI are much lower when I use a nasal mask than when I use a full face. Unfortunately I need the full face during winter months due to chronic sinus issues.

Re: C-Pap Cleaning Machine
Gloves and masks maybe. According to the news stations hand sanitizer is a waste of money and does nothing to prevent getting a cold or the flu. I wonder why they use it in hospitals, for everybody going between patient rooms then... Flu is most commonly spread hand to hand... so, "shrugs" But, by ...

Re: Can someone ease my fears about full face masks
I woke up the other night and noted that the pressure didn't seem as high as usual (hovers around 20). And realized that I had never turned my ASV on before I fell asleep.
I breathed fine without the air (other than my AHI was probably higher than usual). You won't suffocate.

Re: Take CPAP when traveling
I'm thinking that you'll have enough troubles with tiredness that you don't need to add to your problems by doing without the cpap. Can you just hang the cpap case over the handle of your rolling luggage? That's what I did on a recent trip. If you can manage without the humidifier, you won't have to...

Re: OT - Severe Sciatica Help
Hopefully you can see your doctor quickly for a diagnosis and relief.
For what it's worth (and quite possibly not much), I thought I had sciatica and it turned out to be bursitis. So you really need to see a physician (or a PA or NP).

Re: tell your boss?
You made it sound like you are suddenly going to be making those mistakes as a result of treatment. In reality you've had sleep apnea for awhile and any work performance problems due to apneas have been ongoing as well. With treatment your performance should improve. But I wouldn't tell him that and...

Poor choice, Max, possibly due to the personality type indicated by your Meyers Briggs score.
Change your sleep position or risk death due to complications from sleep apnea. I slept on my belly for nearly 50 years as well. You CAN teach an old dog - or middle aged person - new tricks.

Re: How the hell is this going to work?
My daughter was diagnosed at your age. Her camp friends were glad when she showed up with her cpap - they remembered her snoring from the year before. The girls that did not know her took cues from her as far as how to respond to it. She matter of factly just placed it on chair next to her bunk (bro...

Emergency help needed
I am traveling and just discovered my filters popped out at the last
hotel if not the one before that. Which would be worse- using ASV without filters or
going without the AVS?
