Re: Apap vs Bi-pap
Apap is an auto adjusting machine with a single pressure though ResMed and PR both have some form of exhale pressure relief. The EPR setting on a ResMed cpap or apap will reduce the pressure by that amount when exhaling so it is sometimes called 'poor man's bi-level'. PR's c-flex and a-flex work dif...

I like the switch idea though I am not sure the other graphs need it, it would be great for the leak graph.jedimark wrote:Maybe this might be a reasonable first step: double clicking on the yaxis could alternate between autoscaling and a reasonable preset for each graph?

Re: Issues about using a mask without the anti-asphixia valve??
Having recently experienced a power outage I can tell you that I immediately noticed the change in the feel of the mask and woke up. I slept for over an hour with my mouth closed trying to breathe through nasal pillows when I hadn't checked the mail for a couple of days and missed a notice of a pla...

Re: SleepyHead Qt v0.8 alpha
Longer term thoughts. Mostly minor tweaks. 1) I wonder if there's a better way to scale the leak graph. As I move from day to day, due to autoscaling, bad days look good and good days look bad. The leak goes from 25 to 60, but it mostly looks nice and smooth. On a day where I had a few big leaks, t...

Re: Anyone feel better on Cpap vs BiPap or vice versa?
I switched to a bi-level after increased asthma problems made it too hard to breathe out against the pressure many nights. This was even with the S9 AutoSet's EPR set to 3. I definitely feel better on the bi-level. Based on needing EPR of 3 even before the asthma got worse and my experience with the...

Re: Just received sleep study results with CPAP
It sounds like you are getting a great setup. Taking a nap or doing some cpap practice when you get home is a great idea. Like others have mentioned, the climateline hose on the S9 is a wonderful invention.

Re: Masks keep going from great to unusable, now what?
I have the Innomed Hybrid but I can not get that mask to seal at all with mask fit. I have the right sizes but I have to press the mask to my face so hard....oh well....back at it! I suspect my problem with the Hybrid is the chin strap since I get a good seal with the ResMed Liberty but the nose pi...

Re: figured out my mask finally
Is there any other type? I have used 2 local DMEs and had good luck with them. I mostly figured out leak issues from cpaptalk.com but when I purchased a new mask from each DME, they had a room to fit the mask with either a bed or a recliner. When I bought a quattro fx from the 2nd DME, the person h...

Re: Resmed S9 Humidifier issue
The dryness I feel is not my mouth, but more the back of my throat. It feels like where the nose airways go. My nose itself does not feel overly dry. Download ResScan (look for a post by Uncle_Bob to find a link to download the current ResScan) and look at your leak data. I find the leak data on th...

Yea! I expect figuring out how to manage the hose will be easier now that you have enough air pressure.kaiya2465 wrote:It is awesome, I can finally breathe with it not against it. Now all I have to do is figure out the darn hose..lol

Re: Gasping for air & no answers
A min pressure of 5 would not be enough air for me to breathe comfortably. When my asthma got worse early this year I tried several things and was unable to get settings that gave me enough air to breathe well that didn't make it too hard to breathe out against the pressure even with EPR set to 3. W...

Re: Don’t get “HOSED” By the Insurance Companies
We are in different states but the same insurance company name. My DME had no problems getting approval for my S9 VPAP Auto (bi-level machine) and UHC paid the claim for the first month's rent in just a couple of weeks. I don't know how they would have processed a humidifier since I have the one fro...

Re: SleepyHead Qt v0.8 alpha
I had to fight ResScan to get data when I slept past noon which reminded me that I love SleepyHead's import that automatically dumps duplicate data and I don't have to tell it how many days of detailed data to import! 0.8.4 I get graphs with tick marks and labels on the y axis for and no other data ...

Re: H51 humidifier
Great repply; thanks! I'll try that tonight and see what happens. I will simply turn the device on without hitting the 3-seconds button for water heating (but will leave water in the tank just in case). Be well! To run without humidity you have to change the settings, the button is used when you wa...

Re: SleepyHead Qt v0.8 alpha
Unfortunately, I can't install ResScan because the installer is 16 bit, and my OS only runs 32 and 64 bit. Have you tried it in a xp virtual machine? The only way I can get ResScan to install and run with 64 bit Win 7 and security settings I don't control is in an xp virtual machine. To import data...
