Re: Doc told me most people aren't interested in data
If you otherwise like your doctor and DME then you can try to change their mind. For example, ask them if they would want an insulin dependant diabetic should test their blood glucose levels. If they say no, find another doctor/DME. If they say yes, then ask how that differs from sleep apnea. The po...

Re: Deep Cycle Battery for Camping
Resmed sells a battery converter (12v to 24v) that you can use instead of an inverter. You'll need less of a deep cycle battery using that converter. Check the Resmed battery guide for the exact amount. Also, my Battery Backup Design V2 should help up upscale the setup to make it fairly safe for a b...

Re: How many PB's are too many
One event per night is WELL within the range of normal. You have NO need to worry. Even one event per hour is normal. So once per night is great. Of course, if that one event lasts several hours, I would talk with a doctor. But if it lasts only a few minutes (or less) it's not a big deal. Hope that ...

Have you tried a mask liner? There's a reason (my own experience) I offered that suggestion. It really does help.

Re: Doc told me most people aren't interested in data
When I saw my doc (sleep study specialist- neurologist) for my followup he was pleasantly shocked that I brought my card in and that I'd been tracking my data on Sleepyhead. He told me most people don't do this. The way he said it and based on his reaction to my interest made me think I was his onl...

Re: A week without CPAP, how big an issue?
... I wonder if I miss a week would I no longer be in compliance even if I use it all the rest of the month? ... The short answer is "Yes!". You must use your unit at least four hours per night for 70% of the nights during the 30 day period of your "month". In general, you must use your CPAP at lea...

Re: ResMed ASV 36037 and sleepyhead
Sir NoddinOff, sounds as if you are about spot on with the way you describe it. I personally find the PR S1 ASV unit just a smidge more annoying, since that wait then act seems to awaken me more than Resmed's approach of insisting right away. But as I've often mentioned I don't really notice the pre...

Re: saturation C02 level's drop while trying to use
... RR = appears to be set to Auto; the back up respiratory rate determined on the fly by the machine based on the last several minutes of "normal" breathing. If your RR drops below that automatically determined RR, then the machine kicks in and switches from EPAP to IPAP in an attempt to trigger a...

Re: ASV causing headaches?
mj2mom, several things come to mind: First, do you happen to know your settings? Have you checked to see if they were correctly set? It's not unusual for a DME to incorrectly set ASV settings. Second, do you happen to have a copy of your sleep study? What were the conclusions? Were they using the AS...

Today's painting is an autumn scene. I happened across a delightful image of four deer at the edge of a glade beside an autumn forest. It presented two unique challenges. First painting deer is a new challenge for me, as is painting a misty scene. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did. http://i754....

Re: OT - My new hobby ...
Well, today I passed another milestone in my painting "career". Isn't it an axiom that anyone that paints somehow feels compelled to paint a lighthouse? Yup. That's exactly what I did! As you can see, I decided on this beautiful day that the Hatteras Lighthouse on the NC Outerbanks would be an excel...
