Thanks, Jeeper. I joined. If I have chosen the wrong hearing aids, at least there is a 45 day period for making a return.
Mayondair, I ordered something called Starkey s series iQ 11 WI. That's a mouthful. I just wish I had checked with other users before making my order. We'll see what happens.

OT: hearing aids
Today, I finally went for a hearing evaluation which indicated (as if I didn't already know) that I'm hard of hearing. After the order for hearing aids was placed, it dawned on me that I had not researched this topic or joined a hearing aid forum. Any advice, hearing aid recommendation (in case thes...

Re: Semi-OT: Coconut Flour for Low Carb
I have seen canned Lard in our International food store. Ghee too. It is primarily Asian, Indian. They sell lots of interesting things there. Prices are great too. If the lard is sitting on the shelf, it is probably at least partly hydrogenated. Pure lard must be refrigerated. If it's the good stuf...

Re: Semi-OT: Coconut Flour for Low Carb
Just dipping the beef cutlets in the beaten egg, then rolling it in coconut flour? Oh, WHERE are you finding pure lard? (Lard from grass-fed animals would be even better!) BTW, I do pecan-coated catfish -- beat together a couple of eggs and 2-3 tablespoons of Creole mustard. Coat the fish in this, ...

Re: OT:What's your favorite board for low carb living?
There have been some other objective interviews, but Jimmy does put them out there for everyone to make a decision. However, he's had Taubes, Carlson, Davis (cardiologist), Sisson, and dozens of others that don't come immediately to my memory. What I like about Jimmy is the vast wealth of info that ...

Re: Semi-OT: Coconut Flour for Low Carb
My DIL has been chicken frying beef cutlets coated with a beaten egg and coconut flour. She fries the meat in coconut oil. My plan is to fry ours in pure lard (not hydrogenated). Can't wait to try it.

Re: low carb diet?
My husband has had a huge victory. We've known for 11 years that we should always follow a low carbohydrate diet. For a 1 1/2 years we've been fooling around, raising blood glucose and insulin levels. Then DH's legs began to swell, dangerously so. Sometimes he looked like he had elephantiasis and th...

...steroid spray. Do you happen to know if there are any side effects with either long or short term usage? There is <2% migration of steriod nasal spray from the nasal tissue. That was a huge concern of mine too. Well, this is a valid concern. I've spoken with 3 doctors about this issue, and they ...

Re: Congestion issues with cpap
Hi I have the same problem BUT ONLY WITH PILLOW masks. I turned up the humidity, I turned down the humidity, I tried everything all to no avail. I finally figured out that I can't wear a pillow mask, I'm fine with anything else, just NOT pillows. My thinking is that the pillows blow directly into m...

Re: Congestion issues with cpap
I've had a horrible time with nasal congestion also. There are a lot of people who have had different experiences, but for me CPAP seemed to make the congestion worse. The saline washes do me little good. But, the thing that has helped me is the use of steroid nasal sprays (I'm not familiar with the...
