Re: Gas and intestinal issues
If you have a weak lower esophageal sphincter, as I do, the pressurized air will pass through you all night in rapid gun fire shots and more slowly through out the day. There is nothing that anyone has ever suggested on this forum that has worked to fix that for me. I've been living with it daily fo...

Re: non-PAP-related clicking disturbing my sleep
SU, I once had a piece of furniture that I had brought with me from overseas. At night, once everything was quiet, it would make a clicking noise. Eventually I discovered that I had also brought termites with me. It was their chewing that I heard. Just mentioned that because you said you had a big w...

Re: Plugging In...In Spain
I was on a tiny plane from Madrid to Jerez, all three times I took that route. All carryon had to be checked. My ASV bag is 14 x 11 x 9 and since it is so heavy, I have to put it in somethin bigger, with wheels. I don't really want it thrown in the back of a plane, so I haven't been to Spain since m...

Re: Plugging In...In Spain
Did you fly into Madrid and then take a small plane to Jerez? If so, did thy make you check your cpap on that small plane? I fly ino Jerez when I visit my son, but haven't had the courage to do so since I've been on CPAP. I can't sleep on planes, so it makes for a few miserable days when I first get...

Re: CPAP air caused intestinal gas
Hi, I use my CPAP machine every night and I get a good sleep. However, I wake up in the morning with voluminous intestinal gas. Does anyone else have this problem? Yes, some of us have this problem and I haven't found a way around it in the 5 years I've been been on xpap. If it only bothers you in ...

Re: How does one resolve mask leaks?
I was just like you, couldn't move my head without a leak, until I tried using liners. If one layer doesn't help enough, try two layers. Three is best for me. It made all the difference in the world - no more leaks, no more blisters, no more mask farts.

Re: Leaks continue to be an issue. Suggestions?
I'll second the padacheek liner. And if you still leak, add another layer of liner cut out of an old t-shirt. Three layers work best for me. Without the silicone touching my face, I can slather on the night moisturizer and my silicone mask will last forever. I've been using the same one for at least...

Re: First night on ASV (updated)
My sleep doctor didn't think an ASV was medically necessary for me, either, even though I was averaging centrals that were 42 seconds long and some were over two minutes. I bought one on my own and have used it now for nearly 4 years with an average AHI of under 1 and many nights with no flags at al...

Re: Service Dogs for Sleep Apnea
We do have a member here that has a sleep apnea service dog. From what I remember, the dog jumps on his chest when he sees him stop breathing while he is in his chair without his mask. While he is in bed, sleeping, he uses his ASV. Of course, the dog does not help him drive. That is just ridiculous.
