Re: Humidifier
I would definitely ask her what her rationale is for that. I think if I set my humidifier on 3, I'd have water running down my face by morning.

Re: will dst mess you up?
I get a definite jet lag effect from it. It takes me days to feel like I've caught up to the lost hour. Same thing in the fall, except it's a positive feeling to be chasing a gained hour

Re: Zero leak rate and still dry eyes
I've noticed that I often get a draft on my face from air out of the exhaust port of the mask deflecting off the bedclothes and pillow. It helps me to wear a sleep mask to shield my eyes from this, which also protects them if I do get a mask leak in that area. I also use the Genteal gel at night, an...

You may want to check out cpapauction.com. I've had great success finding low-priced machines there.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ResMed-Swift-FX-Replacement-Tube-Assembly-/270717067239?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f07fe9fe7 Found one on Ebay above. There may be others. Interesting that there are three bidders in on that -- makes me wonder if the hose assembly is a known issue with this mask (well, the ...

Need Swift FX part
Somehow, the hose from my Swift FX and the coupler that fastens it to the hose from my CPAP machine parted ways after only a few days of use, and the coupler has never been seen again (cat burglars --the four-footed kind -- are highly suspected). Unfortunately, replacing the coupler means buying the...

Re: Just a whine/blatant bid for sympathy
Thanks, everyone, for cheering me up about my bad night. I knew I could count on this crew to understand! Mars, I like that blue light idea...I definitely would have tried it the other night. I think my Swift FX will arrive today, and I'm looking forward to trying it. I'll post here once I know whic...

Just a whine/blatant bid for sympathy
Hi all, haven't posted in awhile but had one of THOSE nights last night and came over here to read a little and make myself feel better. Started out the night exhausted, went to bed with my Softgel which is usually just pop 'n' snooze, but for some reason last night it Would. Not. Fit. It blasted me...

Re: Inside of my nose is very sore..
Just another thing to consider: When trying a new mask once, it made a sore place at the bottom of my nose, and apparently it was just enough of a break in the skin to let a staph bug in, so it ended up being a staph infection. It was very small and not very irritating, and my only real clue that it...

Not necessarily. Many with celiac disease find they can tolerate rice, corn, and oats.ozij wrote: , But one, important correction:
For people with Celiac, grain is a total, abolute no no no, in any form.

Might want to check out PadACheek's headgear padding, too. I've found it makes a significant difference, even when headgear is tight.

Re: no evidence saturated fat leads to heart disease
If it is true that the "best" way is not known, it would seem rational to err on the side of moderation--and not overdo the eating of any food group or type that is in question. Unfortunately, it seems that most food groups and types are in question, from one perspective or another. High fat = May ...

Re: I just can't get the hang of it
If I were you, I would go to http://www.padacheek.com and check out the forehead and strap pads that are available. I know what you mean about your forehead breaking out, and the forehead pad entirely stopped that for me. I think it's because the fleece allows some circulation and absorption, instea...

Re: Legality of DME supplying USED machines
My DME routinely gives out refurbished units as "new." They did not tell me this initially, but while explaining that I could try out the machine, my insurance would rent it, blah blah blah, I asked what they do with the machines that are returned, knowing that many people do not follow through with...
