Re: First two sleep study results may have been skewed???

Lori, In addition to the questions I posed already, and since your next meeting with the sleep doctor is imminent, here are few suggestions for discussion: - did anybody say that you spent the whole night on your back? I know I change position often, without knowing. So it is possible, and desirable...

Re: First two sleep study results may have been skewed??? UPDATE

Glad to hear that you felt good about your PSG. Just to make sense of your story: I slept SOOO GOOD!!! I built myself a "nest," as Rested Gal suggested, and used my heating pad. I was able to get VERY comfortable on my back, and DID NOT WAKEN THE ENTIRE NIGHT! Didn't even feel the need to roll over!...

Re: Needing some insight Autoset II

With the Vantage I ... I had low AHI numbers typically less than 1 and seldom over 2... [The S8 Autoset}is showing that my AHI has went up -- almost always 3 to 7 (daily, weekly, monthly). Why the change when I am showing no leaks? This isn't such a drastic change if you consider the following: pre...

Re: Sleep Centers to AVOID like the Plague.

We can flame to high heaven ... but how about doing something about it? I called my insurance provider to stop payment unless I get the detailed PSG reports, including raw data; I explained that the only alternative was to start from scratch with another center. The useless answer was that I'd have ...

Re: Help!!! Clueless about Flow Limitations

While I expect that an experienced sleep doctor can recognize a lot in the time histories [and their trends over successive nights], even better derived measures have been proposed (if the doctor and tech can handle the higher signal processing math and physics); for example the ratio of pressure t...

Re: Help!!! Clueless about Flow Limitations

SWS, looks like you caught my trap on discussing inhalation vs. exhalation flow shapes. Which I set unintentionally, and somewhat by insufficient immersion into the breathing process ... and of disordered breathing during sleep. Note that DreamDiver was also highlighting the lower portions of the br...

Re: Help!!! Clueless about Flow Limitations

I like this thread. would I be correct in assuming that, generally speaking, it is the shape of the portion of the flow curve above the red line that would be used in classifying the shape of an inspiratory flow limitation? In answer to the original question, and supplementing the last example provi...

Anybody on this forum, who would rather get their OSA-related "group therapy" in their native tongue, like:
- Schnarchen und Schlafapnoe
- le ronflement et l'apnée du sommeil
- il russamento e l'apnea del sonno
- etc?

Re: First two sleep study results may have been skewed???

Lori, Short of hearing a few real good reasons by the PA, I am joining the chorus urging you to discuss this with the PSG team further. Or else you may end up with useless results . My case in point may put some logic into your arguments: - I was also strongly urged to keep in supine position and wi...

Re: Looking for simple chart of sleep stage percentages

...has anyone found a simple chart that shows the "normal" breakdown of sleep stages for different ages? Weezy, may I assume that you're interested not only in the sleep stage percentages, but in sleep fragmentation? Excerpt:... sleep architecture... difficulties falling asleep (PSG: increase in sl...

Re: Saw my sleep doc today.

While this may be of more interest to you, I think this thread, as it was, is what is of most interest to me, since this thread is about MY sleep situation. It's not a general thread about sleep fragmentation. It's a thread about my experience with my sleep doctor last week. JBN, I am an enthusiast...

Re: Sinus problems after use of CPAP

I am experiencing major sinus problems and sneezing and runny nose every morning and sometimes all day after using my machine overnight... You've given us the tip of the iceberg on your story... and have received a few suggestions from those who had simple solutions. It could be as simple as an ini...

Re: Saw my sleep doc today.

... I was really hoping that this last sleep study might have shown something that could be addressed, and could "fix" my situation. She went over the leg movements ... also went over the hypnogram (sleep stages). I had very little time in REM. ... Also, the fragmentation of my sleep was quite obvi...

Re: ResScan data question

Does the max Leak of 22.8 match the detail graph's max value? No, the leak range does NOT match either.... Thanks for the tip. I'll do a reset tonight and see if that will fix the problem. Solving this problem may only be of academic interest, since you're worried about sanity for just one, or of a...

Re: ResScan data question

Bodhi, It sounds like you're asking about the distribution of your pressures ; comparing one-day data appearing in your ResScan Statistics numbers with the Summary Graphs. I'd expect is to be the same, IFF the same data is used to calculate it, in the same run, and using the same formula. Did you me...
